"What?" Marinette and Adrien said in unison, staring widely at each other.
"Yes. But there's no time for that now. I really need to know what to do about Nooroo." Sonia cut in, trying to get them to stop staring at each other.
"What do you mean? Who is Nooroo?" Alya asked, doing her best not to look at Marinette.
"Hawkmoth's kwami."
"Is it in danger?" Marinette finally stopped staring.
"It needs to get away from Hawkmoth. The more it is depressed, the more it's power fades. It's hard to sense it these days, I'm losing connection with it."
"Hold on, I don't understand." Alya said, visibly confused.
"Then I guess I have to explain from the very beginning. You know me as Sonia Agresté, but I'm also an incarnate of Miraculous, the creator of the Kwamis. When I created them, to make sure they don't fall into the hands of evil people, I made it so that the Kwamis power fade in time. But when I made that rule, I didn't know I would get so attached to the Kwamis that losing it will hurt me. Just like I didn't know that keeping your identities hidden from each other will ruin a lot of things. It is okay if you know each other and have a lair where you meet up and strategize. So, I'm saying, no more secrets between you guys. Put your heads together and help me get Nooroo away from Hawkmoth." When she finished, everyone was quiet. They were each left to their thoughts. Nino was the first to speak up.
"If you're the creator, why can't you just take the kwami forcefully away from Hawkmoth? It should listen to you."
"It does, but the problem is that the kwami has been doing evil rather than good for a while now. The bond between a kwami and it's evil master is different from a bond between a kwami and it's good master. Taking Nooroo away can cause a lot of damage. There are only two things that can happen... First, if I take away Nooroo's power, that would mean killing it, it won't exist anymore. Second, if I snatch it away from Hawkmoth without him giving it willingly, the bond can break and both Hawkmoth and Nooroo can be badly hurt if not..."
"No." Adrien said quietly.
"Why not? Hawkmoth has been terrible, I don't see why we have to keep him." Chloe said nonchalantly.
"That is not an option, Chloe. I know why he is doing what he is doing and I understand him."
"Tell us why, Sonia." Marinette said softly.
"He wants his dead wife back. Your Miraculous and Cat Noir's miraculous can do that. In the beginning, there was a Kwami that could heal and even resurrect people, but people abused it and I regretted making that kwami. I took away it's power, then shared it into two parts, and they are each in your kwamis Ladybug And Catnoir. No one can abuse it because they won't be able to get it without having both kwamis. Anyway, hurting Hawkmoth is not an option."
"Then let's reason with him. Let's explain to him why he can't use the miraculous powers for himself." Marinette suggested.
"Yes, she's right. We can try to convince him." Alya agreed.
"I don't know. He is really stubborn."
"Then if he doesn't listen, we will threaten to take Nooroo by force. He should know what happens when you do that." Chloe put in.
"It's worth a shot." Adrien agreed.
"I accept it too." Nino said, smiling.
"Alright, I trust you guys. Let's save a man and a Kwami."
"Good. So, where do we find Hawkmoth? Do we have to anger someone that they get akumatized?" Chloe asked, smiling mischievously. That made Sonia laugh.
"I know you're an expert in that area but no." She locked eyes with Adrien. "Hawkmoth is at my house. He is my father."
"Huh???" Alya, Marinette, Nino and Chloe exclaimed, shocked.
