Nines pov:

"You kept me waiting."

My eyelids were closed, i didn't wanted to open them yet. I could sense fluid circulating all around me. It was thirium... filling my every fiber and dripping at the tips of my fingers. It was appeasing. I could hear my pump regulator thumping against my metallic ribs and sending the vital liquid through my veins. I was drowning in a blue blood bath and it felt great.

-Tiin caan~~

I opened my eyes slowly, like i was emerging of some kind of trance.

-Oh that's right i forgot, it's your first time here.

I gazed at the wide blank space and the blue lake of thirium in front of me which was stretching as far as the eye can see. A unique platform was floating above the fluid with a ladder to climb on it.

-How's it ? Do you like it ?

Elijah was standing on the small platform, sitting at a table. Or, at least, his hologram was. I swam to his direction until i was able to touch the bottom. I realized my skin had been removed and i had no clothes on. But i didn't felt ashamed.

-It's... different

-Yeah i kind of… redecorated it… The garden was an old design, i wanted to personalized it a little. Did you knew, that it was originally my previous AI teacher's idea ? Amanda used to tell me that all androids are unstable if they don't have a place to ease their software.

-I didn't know androids could experience burn out…

-It is more like some sort of overheating process.

-Do they turn deviant if we don't interfere in time ?

-Not always. Many of those who experience overheating simply self-destruct.

I walked to the table, facing Elijah at the opposite side. This projection looked as real as the original, it allowed me to make reports without going through Cyberlife checkpoint.

-Why did you call me ? Elijah asked.

-I had important information to communicate. The-

-If it's about Connor, i already know this, he cut me.

-You what ??

Something felt wrong with Elijah, i knew he would be dealing with things he would never told me about. That was a problem for me. Because that meant that he had access to a lot more information than i was.

-H-how ? Since when ? Are you keeping other things from me that i should know about ? lf it matter to my mission i should-...

-It would put me in danger if you knew, RK900.. or rather Nines now ? He stated while taking a look at my last updates with a smile. For now it isn't worth the risk. If you were to fall in Cyberlife's hands, they would immediately access your memory and discover everything.

I nodded, but i was frustrated. Having access to those informations would allow me to be more efficient. Gavin's safety was my priority, not his.

-I know what you're thinking, but remember, if i end up putting myself in danger, Gavin will definitely get in trouble too. He stated while looking straight in my eyes, Cyberlife will do anything in order to lay their hands on the deviants.

-Yeah i had a hunch that your scheming involved deviants. Why would you not want Cyberlife to know, otherwise ? But, even though i do know the risks, how should i behave now ? There's a high probability that Connor has planned on using Gavin against you, we can't risk this ! I'm not programed to fail !
