"Come on Lil' Red, hold on for me" Chann grumbled as he carried his Alpha along carefully.
"Little Red?" Kurt scoffed as he took Adolpha's other side, reducing the weight on Chann. She wasn't heavy but the distance from the campground to the castle was long.
"Yeah, look at all the blood in her hair... You'd make a good redhead, Boss Lady" Chann winked and Kurt scoffed along with Adolpha who was just as annoyed about the new development.
"Shut up, Delta, my head feels like it's going to explode" she grumbled as her legs stumbled up the front steps of the Volturi castle.
"Yes well, you showed 'em who's boss, little lady" Kurt promised. "The other guys look like shit and you're beautiful as ever"
"Thanks" she laughed loudly and then promptly cringed.
"Up you go Alpha. I can't be arsed with this turtle pace. It'll take us ten years to get to the elevator and I just don't have that kind of time" Chann chuckled and she scoffed but otherwise allowed him to swing her upwards into a bridal hold as they proceeded through the castle.
"You're immortal, Asshole" she clipped, slapping his chest lightly.
"Abuse" Chann scoffed. "You seem to be getting your head juice on my shoulder"
"That's called blood, douchenugget" Kurt clipped him over the back of the head as they finally made it to the throne room. Their pace was incredibly leisurely given the circumstances but Wolves couldn't suffer brain damage so they were fairly certain she'd be fine when the gash across her forehead was sealed up and she was no longer blinking blood out of her eyes.
"What the hell happened?" a voice demanded and Adoplha instantly stirred from where she was slowly drifting off in Chann's hold.
"A gang of newbie wolves got ahold of her, very unhappy last night. Whacked her head open like one of the squirrels with the nuts in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory"
"Okay Chann, shut up now" Kurt clipped, accepting Athenodora into a hug when she approached. Meanwhile, Caius was taking his fiance from the Delta wolf. Adolpha curled happily into his chest as he watched her with a panicked gaze, arms strong beneath her gentle weight. "She just needs stitching up, a bit of a cleanup and she will be better than okay" Kurt nodded and Caius sat softly in his throne, eyes assessing her as her own dreamy gaze toyed with the rings hanging around her lover's neck.
"Have you called a doctor?" Caius snapped.
"Already done, brother" Aro breathed calmly. "It's all fine."
"Just an itty bitty bit lightheaded." Adolpha giggled into his neck before grasping his tie and tugging him closer to her. "Kisses"
"Let's get you cleaned up first, Dolcezza" Caius hushed and she pouted, tugging his tie slightly.
"Think they knocked a few screws loose in the old noggin, you know" Chann shrugged and Kurt scoffed, hitting him over the back of the head again.
"I'll knock something more than a few screws loose in that obnoxiously large head of yours if you don't stop running your mouth, Delta" Kurt scoffed and Athenodora ran a hand over his chest gently, calmingly. Caius, on the other hand, didn't even hear the words leaving any of their mouths as his eyes scanned Adolpha continually, his arms shielding her carefully.
"The doctor has arrived" Jane informed with a detached fashion as she suddenly appeared, and then promptly disappeared once more and Caius vanished in her wake with Adolpha tucked carefully into his arms.
"Will she be okay?" Athenodora questioned with genuine concern in her eyes for her new 'sister'. The Volturi dynamic was definitely confused but they all cared about one another- which was one thing that nobody ever understood about the Volturi.
"Adolpha will be fine" Kurt promised, running his hands over her shoulders calmly with a soft smile on his lips.
"And what about you?" she smiled softly and he touched her cheeks lightly once before taking her hands and guiding her away from the Throne room.
"Absolutely exhausted and in need of food and sleep" he chuckled and she grinned as she proceeded to drag him along gently toward her own room.
Elsewhere in the castle; the doctor was just leaving and Caius sighed as he tucked the quilt up closer around Adolpha, eyes scanning over her forehead that had been wrapped tightly. She looked so frail there, lying in the big bed with her hand clasped in his large one and he had half a mind to lock her in a tower like Athenodora and Sulpicia had once been. That had been a decade ago and since the wives rebellion, they had changed their mind about it all. And he was certain that the fiery temper of his fiance wouldn't be very accepting of forced isolation.
Gently sliding her engagement ring from the chain on his neck, he softly slid it back into place on her finger. The movement disgruntled her and her eyes fluttered open to smile dreamily at her.
"Hello, Cara Mia" he breathed, smiling gently.
"Hi"
"You need rest, Baby" he informed her, pulling her hand gently to his mouth and keeping it there softly. "You're safe now. You're okay. Sleep now, I will stay with you. And then we can watch this 'Jumanji' and I'll order you takeout, I'll even give you all the 'kisses' you want" he teased and she laughed weakly.
"Did I really say that out loud?" she questioned smile on her lips at her own embarrassment.
"You did, Tesoro, and I will happily oblige. When you are better" he promised but it was already too late because she'd fallen into sleep and he smiled warmly as he listened to her calmly beating heart. Adolpha Blackwood was the thing he cared for most in the world.
