"I see what you meant, about the exploding cake man. I believe that is what the humans call 'spoilers', you spoilt it for me" Caius pouted as he lay lazily across the couch with his wolf fiance draped on top of him. Her chest was to his chest where they lay, her forehead resting against his neck as they watched the television and in her hand, she twirled her brothers ring around the chain where it lay- soon to be Caius'."Hmm, that's what you get for not having watched a movie since the forties" she hummed and he chuckled.
"You're grumpy today" Caius mused, pressing a kiss to the bandage still wrapped firmly around her head from the full moon adventures the previous day. She was a little bit beat up but other than that, she was perfectly fine- as they all expected. Though, Caius was still very reluctant to leave her side for even a second. The movie seemed to drift off in the background as he looked down into her eyes. He didn't know for certain when everything between them had changed-- But he was glad that it had.
"My head feels like it has a marching band inside it" she informed him in a deadpan tone, pressing her head to his neck as the cool of his flesh seemed to fight off the agony. "Heidi came to me this morning"
"Oh yeah?" Caius hummed and she nodded softly once.
"She wants us to come up with a colour theme" she scoffed and he chuckled as he hummed to himself. "What would you like?"
"It's completely up to you, Bellissima" he assured and she frowned as she considered it.
"I can't think, the marching band's turning my brain to mush... Besides, you're a king. Don't you already have ideas? All formal and what-not"
"Cara." Caius sighed. "Listen to me. This wedding... I want it to be everything that you want. You may not have particularly liked the idea of marrying me but that's what's happened so I want you to at least enjoy it."
"I just... I want it to be light. Does that make any sense? This place is so dark and it's supposed to be about love and happiness.. I just want it to be bright." she frowned and he danced patterns in her arms as he considered.
"Light green?" he mused.
"Green is apparently bad luck for weddings... And we don't need to confirm the idea that you are in fact, a Slytherin"
"What's a Slytherin?" he frowned down at her and she just blinked at him for a long moment.
"Of course you haven't watched Harry Potter." she laughed and he just rolled his eyes, aware as Adolpha played with the buttons on his shirt.
"Fine... Pink then?"
"Do I look like a Pink person?... Do you?" she laughed.
"I'm just pitching ideas, Baby. You can join in whenever you'd like he winked and she jumped and giggled in shock as his hand came down to slap her behind.
"Blue" she decided.
"Blue?"
"Light Blue" she reiterated and he seemed to be lost in consideration for a long moment as he pondered it.
"Well," he hummed. "There must be a reason why they have 'something blue' at Weddings" Caius chuckled and she smiled, feeling much more relaxed now that they had discussed the necessary things.
"I am a blue wolf" she mused and he hummed along softly, hand running through her hair. They had not expected to be married so soon but at the same time- they couldn't be happier about the newest development. They had forever to go on sweet dates and serenade one another with gifts; at least for now, they could get the formalities out of the way and appease Aro all in one swoop.
Adolpha was just dozing off on Caius' chest when the door slammed open and she jumped. Her vampire protector instantly turned his glare to the group of people who entered, though they seemed unaffected by his anger as Adolpha groaned and peeled herself away from him to sit up more conservatively.
"Ladies" Caius scoffed, eyes scanning over Sulpicia, Athenodora and Heidi who grinned in response. It felt so peculiar, being friends with Athenodora but they had been family for centuries and nothing could disrupt that. Even Kurt and Adolpha were accepting of their friendship which made it all the more special.
"Caius" Sulpicia beamed, sitting happily in the armchair as if she wasn't interrupting a moment and he rolled his eyes in ordinary sibling irritation. It was one thing everyone always got wrong about the Volturi- they weren't an army, they were a family. "Aro is looking for you"
"Perfect gives me an escape from the girly chatter" he winked at his fiance and pressed a kiss to her forehead while she scoffed. The next moment, he was gone and she dragged herself to sit up as Heidi took a seat beside her. The guard smiled gently, eyes scanning over her face.
"I hope that doesn't scar." she pointed to her head and Athenodora rolled her eyes.
"You're beautiful either way, Adolpha"
"Thank you, Athena" she smiled and it was a sight to behold, a truce between two sworn enemies. But they wouldn't have it any other way. They were quickly becoming friends and soon enough, they would be sisters- Despite the peculiarity of the dynamic.
"Something is going on with the men, Adolpha" Sulpicia frowned. "They're being stranger than usual. They're hiding something."
"I'm sure that if anyone can get the answers out of Aro, it is you, Sulpicia" Adolpha beamed and her friend shot one in return. It was incredible to the Alpha, how quickly she had grown to feel accepted by the vampires. A centuries-long feud was set aside in an instant and it was exhilarating.
"Enough boring talk" Heidi snapped. "We have a wedding to plan"
