It sucks.

It sucks having to spend a day without her. It sucks knowing that things will never be the same. It sucks having to see her with another man. It sucks seeing her fingers in between a different guy's fingers. It sucks realizing that she will never ever be yours.

I sat alone at the cafeteria. I sunk in my seat as I watched my Maddie beside that guy. She seems happy. She's with the guy's group of friends, i think. They were laughing, smiling, love was in their eyes. Sure, they were with a group of people but to them it was just two hearts beating as one. It was sick.. sick.

Yogurt drink was spilling out of the box from clenching it too much. Some even got on my purple doodle shirt, the shirt Maddie gave me last Christmas. Shit. I smelled like blueberries.

"Would you like a tissue?" a girl offered. I looked up and saw a familiar girl. She's a very pretty, tall, asian girl, but not any taller than I. She had black hair and she had dark brown eyes. She looked like an angel, no kid. I was at awe for a moment, but then I remembered- Maddie

She sat beside me and wiped some of the blueberry drink off my shirt, but it didn't help that much. I didn't really want any company but I'd be rude if I tell her. "Excuse me, but do I know you?"

She looked at me and smiled. "Ah, we've been classmates for two years yet you don't know me." Well, I knew her- sortof. I knew that she was from some class, and that she's one hell of a headturner, it's just that I didn't know her name.

"I'm sorry, I'm not that good with names," I replied as politely as I could.

She rolled her eyes, "You didn't have to lie." She took my hand and gave it a shake, "I'm Alexa Reece, Nice meeting you, Daniel."

Oh, she knows my name. I felt bad. I smiled at her, as convincingly as I could, trying to show some interest. I faced back at Maddie, who has Liam's arm around her. Egck. They don't look good together.

"I see you're not with your girlfriend. Or is she still your girlfriend?" she asked.

I stared at her. Why is she even here. She should go back to where she usually sits.

"She has never been my girlfriend. Now go away," I proclaimed.

She must've not understood what I meant since she sat beside me, and she was invading too much of my personal space. She leaned on my shoulder and played with my hand. What the hell was she doing! I dodged her away but she just held on tighter.

"Shh.. Just observe," she whispered and pointed to a direction with her lips.

She pointed to the table where Liam and Maddie sat. They were everything a new couple could ever be: sweet, in love, and disgusting. Liam scanned his surroundings until he found us- Alexa and I, who at first glanced seemed to be in a relationship. But he wasn't looking at 'us', he was looking at one person in particular- her. They had intense eye contact. I had no idea what Alexa had in mind, but she planted a soft kiss on my cheek. I was startled. Some stranger leans on my shoulder, holding my hand now she kisses me? This made Liam angry.. somehow, so he gave Maddie a kiss on the lips. I didn't enjoy watching that.

I pushed her away. "What the hell are you doing!" I never knew someone so angelic could do such thing. Looks really are deceiving.

She smiled. "See that guy beside your girl? That guy's my Liam."

Wait,..my Liam? Ahh, that explains everything. I was about to ask her a question but I guess the answer came first with her girly accent.

"You see. We were together for three years, and for some reason, he broke up with me. I mean he-broke up-with-me! All because she met this chick when he transferred to my school. He changed schools for me, but now he's pressing his lips on another girl's lips.  Ugh, what a jerk."

I didn't really pay that much attention to Alexa. I was too busy looking at the annoying couple across. But girls don't really like being ignored, so she held my chin and turned it to her direction, such as my eyes met hers. They were dazzling, but not as dazzling as Maddie's.

"Point is, loverboy," she said, "I know how much you love your girl. But your girl likes my guy. We can change that." She placed her fingers in between mine and brought it up to her cheek, trying her best to catch Liam's attention. "We'll be partners, for now. You get to have all the priveleges a boyfriend can have from me, and vice versa. They will see us happy with each other, be jealous, realize how much they loved us and things will be back the way they used to be. Ir's a win-win situation. Besides, you don't want Maddie to think that you're mourning over that loss?"

I was getting exasperated by the minute. I could just shout at this pretty lady, but I won't.

"I can't do that to my Maddie."

"She's not yours now, isn't she?"

It's true. She's not mine anymore. In fact, she has never been mine. I never really had that custody, I was just this friend who always tagged along, did what I was told. I was.. a servant. She wasn't mine, I was hers. But she didn't really care too much of that possession, she had other more important items to care for.

"Still, I can't do that to Maddie, whomever she was," I said. Maddie and Liam wasn't there anymore. They must've gone somewhere where they could enjoy each other's company, doing boyfriend-girlfriend shit.

Alexa glided a piece of paper infront of me. "I knew you'd say that, but think about it. I'll give you two days," she said and strutted her ass away.

I stared at the poorly ripped piece of paper infront of me, stained with the juice I have spilled. I picked up the damp piece of paper to see what was written on it, but it was no mystery. It was her number, obviously.

But come to think of it, it does have some advantages.

Should I?

Nah.

But maybe I would.
