Chapter 7

KAYLEE GONZALES' POV

"Do I look okay?" I asked Geli while I'm scanning myself in front of the mirror. Nandito kami ngayon sa beach resort sa Batangas kung saan gaganapin ang welcome party. We are getting ready dahil maya maya lang ay magsisimula na ang kasiyahan. I'm wearing a v-neck down bohemian white dress match with white flat sandals. I curled my hair and put a small amount of make up maintaining my vicious look. I want to look presentable para mas lalo kong mapahanga ang mga bisita.

"You are stunningly perfect sweetheart!"

"That's the overflowing compliment of yours Geli" at pareho naman kaming natawa sa sinabi ko.

"I should go first para maasikaso ko na yung ibang bisita" binigyan ko  ng kakaibang tingin si Geli dahil sa sinabi niya.

"Baka naman boy hunting ang ibig mong sabihin" ilang taon ko ng kasama si Geli at saulong saulo ko na ang mga kilos pati na rin ang pagiisip ng babaeng 'to pagdating sa lalaki. She is everyone's favorite daydream but entailed not to encounter

"Whatever" akma na siyang lalabas nang humarap muli ito sakin. "Brace yourself Kaye, any time lalabas kana. Haharapin mo na silang lahat." I stood up and I draw near her.

"Goodluck sweetheart. Show them the new version of you" she said before walking out the door. I examined myself again, slowly touching my face. I've been through a lot of hard times just to be in this spot and now, I won't let anyone bring me me down. I won't let anyone to stop me...

"No one can ever stop me from being Kaye..." Huminga ako ng malalim at tuluyan ng lumabas ng silid.

"A very good evening to you Ladies and Gentlemen. Tonight, this opportunity of introducing this wonderful woman is a great privilege. I know this one is difficult but the thought that she is a  woman of virtue and diligence, I feel elated to introduce her to everyone tonight." said by the master of ceremony as the event started.

"If one takes a closer look at the alchemy of the achieving person, two distinct features pop up;  perseverance and hard work. This woman is the living idiom of a person who happened to be born at the right time and at the right place. Coupled with an impressive background, it was not therefore surprising that she became a devoted business woman"

"Please join me in welcoming the woman behind this successful industry, Miss Kaye Gonzales! Let's give her a round of a flaws" Everyone stood up and turned their gaze as the spotlight turned into my direction, flashing their different reactions when they heard my last name. I graciouly walked towards the stage wearing my dazzling smile.

"First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone for allocating time in their busy schedule to attend this event. From the bottom of my heart and to all those people who are involved in organizing this welcome party, thank you very much." they all applaud

"I know everyone are filled with so much questions because of the sudden revelation of my surname." bahagya akong napatawa nang makita ko ang mga pilit nilang ngiti. Ang iba naman ay parang wala lang dahil mukhang mga baguhan ang mga ito at walang alam tungkol sa nakaraan.

"And I won't let you leave this event, clueless and confused. So all of that questions in your mind will be answered tonight" I took a  glance to the people who need to witnessed this divulgence. Medyo nawala ang mga ngiti ko nang makita kong hindi kumpleto ang mga ito.

"Hiding my real identity was very challenging. Maraming tao na ang binayaran ko para lang itago ang mga impormasyong nakalap nila tungkol sa'kin. At sa ganong paraan, walang naging hadlang sa'kin para matupad lahat ng hangarin ko. Building MKG Corporation alone was very hard, but because of this hardworking and loving man of my life, I successfully make it to the top." panandalian akong tumigil nang maramdaman kong tutulo na ang luha ko pero hindi ko ito pinahalata. Ayokong makita nila 'kong mahina

"For the honor of my long lost father, I build MKG Corporation and named it after him. MKG which stands for Michael Kalel Gonzales." lahat ng tao ay nagulat sa sinabi ko at nagumpisa ang mga bulung- bulungan ng mga bisita.

"As his daughter, I'm here to continue his legacy in this industry. I want to give the justness that he deserve and I will continuously fight for what's best." Muli akong tumingin sa direksyon ng mga Olivio and their reactions is priceless except for this one man who only shows his blank expression.

"And before this night ends, I want to thank Mr. Zendrick Olivio, the owner of Z.O enterprise for making me one of their company's investor. It's a pleasure for MKG Corporation to be part of your extended family. I'm looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship between our two businesses. Thank you again Mr. Olivio!" muling nagpalakpakan ang lahat. Sinuklian naman ako ng ngiti at bahagyang bow ni Mr. Olivio. 

"For everyone, I'm glad to have a future businesses and partnership with you. I'd like you all to charge your glasses and join me in toasting this new successful beginning. Ladies and Gentlemen, please raise your glass" I picked up the glass of wine, served by the waiter and raised it to the air. "Cheers!" I shouted. We simultaneously drink the wine. I put down the glass at tiningnan ang lahat ng taong nasa harap ko na ngayon ay umiinom parin. Bumaba ako ng stage at hinayaan na ang mga bisitang gawin ang gusto nila. I changed my outfit into a white dress v-neck style.

Pabalik na ako sa mismong venue nang makasalubong ko si Rhyce, ang kambal ni Rhyza.

"Hey Miss Kaye" he greeted.

"Mr. Peralta what's up? Are you enjoying the party?"

"You're too formal Miss Kaye. Rhyce na lang" bahagya naman itong tumawa.

"Alright then, just call me Kaye. May pinagsamahan naman tayo diba?" nakita ko ang pagkagulat sa mukha ni Rhyce kaya agad kong nilinaw ang sinabi ko

"We are batch mates right? Geli just told me after we've met last time"

"Ah oo hahaha" napakamot ito sa ulo. Mapapahaba pa sana ang kwentuhan namin nang tawagin ako ni Alys dahil hinahanap ako ng mga bisita.

"If you'll excuse me Rhyce, kailangan na kase ako don eh" akma akong aalis ng hawakan niya ang kamay ko at nagsalota.

"Your father is so proud of you, wherever he is right now. Be brave Kaye, I know you can do it. I will always be right here for you if you need a hand."

I was confused in every word that he said but still, I managed to give him a smile
