I stared at the magazine, in amazement. I had finally finished this draft and it had been sent to the publishers. I had been here since 6am this morning and I definitely can tell you, I've been working non-stop. It was now 11 am and there was coffee cups everywhere.
I adjusted the deep orange beanie on my head with my hair lightly brushing my shoulders. I got up from my comfy chair and pulled down my black jumper with a bold brown line on my chest and then a zig zag pattern under that and lastly, leaves in a pattern. I was wearing a collared deep yellow top underneath the jumper and brown leggings and black uggs.
Boy, was I in my comfort zone. All the fashion people dressed in a very creative way and the photographers and artists wearing normal clothes because their talent doesn't focus on that.
My phone started to ring and I picked up without seeing the name. "Hello" I asked "Hello, Chestnut! It's Maya darling just came to check up on you." It's Craig's mother and I was quite annoyed she forgot my name, she's known me for how long. "Its Hazel, Mrs" "Well it ain't my fault I don't remember nut names!" Okay, now I'm irritated but I have to get along with her. "On the other hand, have you guys got lucky with the baby?" "Well, we're not ready for babies just yet, Maya and we aren't really trying at the moment and Craig is on a business trip."
"I am very disappointed, I hoped that my first child will have a baby before his little brother. Jovante has a little boy and you guys haven't! How's things in the bedroom?" I am actually not in the mood to speak to her."'Everything is fine in the bedroom, trust me. I will not allow you to say you're disappointed in me just because of a child. Craig and I will be ready when we are ready."
Charlie started to walk towards me and about to speak when I mouthed for her to hold on. 'I knew Craig was too good for you' Maya said. I just hung up start away. Yes, its rude but do you actually say that to your daughter-in-law! I'm not going to be forced when to have a child.
"Yes Charlie?" "The photo shoot for my edition of the magazine and I want you in it." I was truly touched by that. I nodded my head and the photo shoot was a breeze. Charlie is like a child to me and she's great company. I shared my graze box with her that Craig sent.
When he called. "Hi Hazel. I heard you argued with my mum. Well the thing is she wants you to come to a meal with my parents, Jovante and his family." "Craig no, she truly loves to annoy me!" "Please, you will get to get closer to her. It's Saturday at 1pm." Before I could reply. "Thanks babe" was the last thing he said and hung up. "Well that was rude" I mutetered. "What was?" Charlie questioned. "I'm going to have a meal with my mother in law. Whoop dee doo!" "I'm sure it will be fine" Charlie reassured me but she's eighteen and she doesn't know the half of it. I dropped her at home and got home and checked the electricity. It worked but who paid? Most probably Craig.
I found this chapter not as good as the others but the next will be good I promise. I'm just having a writer's block.
