My memories of her is what kept me alive, but killed me at the same time.

"Are you sure about this?" the tiny broken whisper made her pause from packing her bag. Her hands hovered on top of the half packed baggage, she furrows her brows in confusion as she turns her head to look at the person in question.
"You know we're fine with you staying and finishing your studies here in Australia, Chaeyoung."
Park Chaeyoung or also known as Roseanne and Rosé, stared at the insecure form of her mother. The vibrant woman she once knew of her mother grew to this silent husk of shell. The once tan and rosy skin of her mother is pale, her lips cracked and her eyes were painted with deep hollow bags.
"Yes" Rosé answered with finality in her tone.
Her mother's hollow eyes grew wide with despair, tears welled up in her eyelids as she shortened the distance between her and her daughter. She grabbed a fist full of Rosé's jacket, her hands were shaking furiously-- tiny whimpers and sobs fell out of her mouth.
Rosé felt her own eyes shimmer with tears, she encircled her arms around her shaking mother and pulls her tightly to her chest.
Small coos and whispers of comfort left Rosé's lips just to calm her distraught mother.
The door suddenly cracked open, Rosé turns her head to see her father enter the room-- like her mum, her father didn't look any better. The once proud and aloof man has now turned bitter and worn out. It was as if all the fight he had within him was sucked away, never to be replenished again.
Her father looked at the sobbing woman in Rosé's arms and flash of pain crossed his features. He clears his throat and walks his way to Rosé's place, he collects the anguished woman in his arms.
"So you're still adamant in going to Korea?" Rosé's father asked her in a soft tone.
"Yeah..." she bows her head and murmurs under her breath. Looking eye to eye with her father always tends to make her squirm, no matter how many years or changes have already passed.
"...and you still wish to enroll to that University?" her father inquires.
"Yeah..."
Her father rubs soothing circles on her mother's back, soft snores can be heard indicating that Rosé's mum fell asleep.
"Are you certain?"
Rosé's father asked her the same question her mother did, but her answer will stubbornly stay the same.
"...yes."
Her father released a deep sigh,
"...We can't lose you too..."
It was her father's own way of voicing out his care.
"...I know..."
Rosé's father glanced at her for a second before leaving the room, bringing her slumbering mother in tow.
Once the door shut close, Rosé crumbles and falls down her bed. The bag placed on top of it jumps from the hard impact of the fall-- but Rosé doesn't pay it any mind. Her mind was far too emotionally distressed from the upcoming days until her flight to Korea.
What am I thinking?!
She looked blankly on her pale white ceiling.
Why am I doing this?
