Sometimes, Jisoo wonders if life were different if she weren't a part of this dysfunctional family. Calling and describing the Kim's as dysfunctional was too much of a soft explanation even for her. Her entire clan from both sides of her kin were just as dysfunctional as they were eccentric-- grouping them together was just pure and utter chaos.

As far as Jisoo knows, the Kim's and Yukimori's were cordial at best-- as to why this was, her parents still hasn't told her. But the only thing Jisoo would guess is the fact that the Japanese and Koreans weren't on friendly terms, sometimes-- given their bloody history with each other.

Though, that just brought about more questions to Jisoo-- if the Kim's and Yukimori's didn't see eye to eye a long time ago, what caused the changed? Only her mother and father knows, and they kept their mouth sealed, especially of their matrimony.

And this made Jisoo wonder, if her parents really loved each other-- or if their union was just for political ends between the family. Wow, this sounds like Romeo and Juliet-- but the difference was that none of the main characters died because they weren't idiotic enough to swallow down a poison or stab themselves, at least for now.

Damn it, now Jisoo remembers that poem again. The play and piece was great, Jisoo has to hand it to Shakespeare for creating a masterpiece fawned by the current generation. It was just that, Romeo and Juliet acted like idiots at the timeline of the story-- star crossed lovers? A load of bull. Romeo and Juliet weren't in love, they merely saw each other as a form of escape. Romeo was obviously still in love with Rosaline and he used Juliet as a means of rebound to forget his unrequited love-- and it all lead to a tragic end.

But, Jisoo's words doesn't hold any weight-- she was only ten after all. Love was still, and is still an enigma to her curious mind. But from the books she had read, Love wasn't really a complicated thing like how people described it to be.

According to what she had read-- It takes only just about five seconds for a person to 'fall in love'. A second for them to take in the other's form, a second for them to take in their voice, a second for them to take in their scent, a second for them to feel that rush, and a second for them to fall in love.

So love is nothing but just an equation that follows the same pattern of formula. It is nothing more than just a chemical reaction of the hormones of our body. More often lead by the hormones dopamine released by the brain, with serotonin increased to the desired level, and finally the production of oxytocin. The happy hormone, the pleasure hormone, and the trust hormone-- moreover, if one is exposed to heartbreak,  endorphins are produced to ease the pain.

People say that love comes from the heart, and Jisoo can't help but scratch her head at that. Love is merely a reaction from the signals emitted by our brain and transmitted to our beating appendage. That's why regulatory hormones exist, they're a necessity so your hormones wouldn't go around the place.

So maybe that's why Romeo and Juliet acted like buffoons on the story-- simply because their hormones got to them. It was sad as it was comical, the tragic events in the play would have been avoided if either Romeo or Juliet knew how to keep their hormones in check.

Ah, Jisoo diverged a lot from the topic in hand hasn't she? This was one of her superpowers, blabbing random facts without any filter wherein she's stuck on her own universe inside her mind if anything in reality was boring her to no end.

Jisoo wouldn't dare say she's bored out loud though, especially since her mother is just standing a couple of feet away from where she's seated. She still doesn't understand why her mother is always insistent on bringing her into one of her rendezvous. It's not like Jisoo enjoyed every bit of it, don't get her wrong-- at some point, she does enjoy her mother's presence even though the older woman scares her wits. But, Jisoo kind of wanted to just go back to her safe heaven in the library-- better yet, play a game of chess with some of their staff-- or maybe Jennie, if her sister was interested.
