Erica's Pov

I sauntered into my workplace with a frown on my face and small luggage in hand.

I had troubles working under someone, low pay rates, orders, and a bunch of other stupid things that didn't really satisfy me but given circumstances, I had no choice.

"Erica?"

I glanced at my fellow coworkers, bobbed my head then made my way towards the backroom to clock in.

Chanise met in the hallway, 'accidentally' bumping into me and continued her journey to the other side of the room.

In a short amount of words, shortie wanted to build a relationship whereas I didn't really see her more than a quick nut.

We got in a heated argument some weeks back which brought me to the realization that it was best to leave her alone.

Too needy!

Furthermore, my mood was quite sour after practically being forced to work on my day off so engaging in another argument was the last thing on my mind.

According to Escobar, I was a lousy worker who was either late or absent. That was far from the truth but my patrol officer took the bait for various reasons.

Since I was no longer fucking her, Alana searching high and low to prove I was being defiant and throw my ass in jail.

Weird flex!

The only woman that I felt was obligated to have my time was Cyn. Things were working out good for us and hopefully, it stays that way too.

"Hey."

I looked at her for a moment or two then bowed my head, open my locker and shoved my belongings inside.

Chanise leaned against the locker beside me and folded her arms. "Still not speaking?"

I slammed my locker shut and retrieved my phone from my pockets, checking for missed calls or text messages.

"I've been texting, calling you and haven't got any answers or response-"

"I've been busy." I replied.

Cyn❤: How long are you going to be? 🤔

Cyn❤: I'm thinking of a food & games type of night?😋🎯

: I'll leave that up to you baby

"Erica, I know we shared some words but my feelings were hurt. I-I thought we have a dope connection and just feel that if we're in a relationship then-"

"Relationship?" I raised an eyebrow and turned to her.

"Yes, we are building a relationship and-"

I gave a short, mirthless laugh. "Chanise, we are not an item okay? We messed around a few times, might've shared some laughs or drinks but that's all it will ever be. Fun."

"Y-You don't mean that." She stammered and began running her hands down my chest.

I grabbed her hands and pushed her backward. "Stop! I think you're a cool chick but it's best we put an end to this and keep things strictly professional."
