"Good morning!" The receptionist greeted over the phone. "I'm calling to inform you that Mr. and Mrs. Watson is here. Again."

I rolled my eyes. "Maria, I'm not ready to proceed right now. I'm still reviewing their case an-

"Point taken!" She interrupted. "But you been saying that for the last hour and they are.. growing impatient."

"TELL THEM TO FUCK-" I stopped myself and took a deep breath. "Maria, tell them I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we may have to reschedule."

"Reschedule? With all due respect, you're already cancelled four appointments this week an-

"Make this my fifth." I hung up.

Things have not been going good for the last past weeks. I no longer could keep my life from spiraling out of control.

Work was hectic, not to mention, we have a big case coming up that I have not prep for at all.

My "family" been planning this event that was mandatory for all to attend. Ever since they heard about Joe, they been on my ass like butter on rice.

Where are you?

What time you coming over?

How's the healing process?

Did you check up on Joe?

How's everything going with you guys?

The only thing they seem to care about when it came to me was him. They even went far as inviting him to the event too.

Joe was the last person I wanted to see or hear from. The whole ordeal was haunting
me.

"Hey!" Mary cheered, walking inside, with Stella behind her.

"Hey."

I remain focus on the laptop, not bothering to acknowledge their presence. I wanted to be alone not smothered.

"Un un!" She objected. "I know you not still hung up on him. Come on, escape the funk and live a bit."

"I am not." I retorted.

"Right." Stella agreed. "I'm sure Cynthia been busy with work and helping her man Joey out."

"Man? Joe ain't her damn-

"To what do I owe this visit?"

"N-Nothing." Mary flopped down on the sofa across from my desk.

"I .. We just wanted to check up on our old friend." Stella grinned. "Besides, when was the last time we hung out?"

I stared at them for a moment then shook my head. Mary and Stella wasn't fooling me not one bit.

"My mother sent you." I said sternly.

"What? We-

"Stella." I warned. "Do not stick your foot further in your mouth. I wish you all would stop worrying about me. I'm fine."
