Apollo Cabin One-Shots

Rachel showed her

It was lunchtime at Camp Half-Blood and as Austin made his way to his table, he couldn't help notice Will looking even more annoyed than usual. Opposite him was Kayla who would say something and laugh whilst Will pretended to look annoyed. Austin went over and set next to Will, who faked a sigh of relief.

"Hey, Will, is Kayla annoying you again?" Austin asked, earning himself a well-placed kick on his shin.
"Of course I'm not, " Kayla said at the same as Will nodded vehemently. Kayla scowled before a grin broke across her face.

"Hey, Austin, " she began, barely able to restrain a toothy grin. "On all levels except physical, I am a wolf." Kayla then proceeded to do a bark as Will tried to disguise his laughing as embarrassed sobs. Austin broke down laughing, hitting the table with one and clutching the other to his stomach. Before long, the three of them were in fits of giggles.

"Kayla, " Austin breathed, trying to smother a laugh. "Where the heck did you hear that?"
"Rachel showed me, " she answered, pointing in the direction of the redhead who was deep in conversation with Chiron.
"Do the other one, " Will said, not bothering to hide his smile. Kayla's face went blank for a second before she snickered.

Getting up from the table, she ran over to the food and picked up something green. Kayla returned just as quickly and threw an avocado down on the table.
"Fre shavacodo, " she announced before they all started laughing again.

Kayla has just finished teaching Archery and was making her way back to her cabin. As the door came into sight, Kayla grew suspicious at the silence coming from within. Scowling slightly, she opened the door and found the lights were off. She made to turn them on when -
"Ah!" Will and Austin jumped out from behind the door with screams higher than Kayla could ever make. She jumped and squealed.
"Stop, I coulda dropped my croissant!" She exclaimed, punching the pair of them on the shoulder. Again, the three dissolved in laughter.

"Okay, seriously though, " Will took a deep breath. "You need to stop with these - these..."
"Vines?" Kayla supplied.
"Yeah. Wait, no. What's a vine?" Will furrowed his brow.
"Vine was an app with loads of these hilarious videos," Kayla replied. "Rachel-"
"-showed you. Yes, we know."
Although the boys found them hilarious, they had to admit that it was getting annoying. For a second, Kayla looked hurt but a smile quickly covered it. She dropped her quiver and now in a corner before flopping onto her bed.

The wind was picking up and blowing leaves and bits of twig around the camp. Austin was stood on the porch when a piece of twig hit his head.
"This hurricane is going to mess up my hair!" He joked. Kayla took a sharp intake of breath.
"Hurricane Katrina? More like hurricane tortilla!" She sang before collapsing into fits of giggles. Will and Austin exchanged a sigh before leaving her behind.

They sat down at their table before glancing around for their sister.
"Geez, thanks for waiting, " Kayla grumbled.
"Your welcome, " Will muttered with a sarcastic voice. Kayla seemed to not to have heard him and carried on speaking.
"I thought you guys found them funny! Here I was making an effort to remember them because I thought it would make you laugh but no, they weren't amusing enough for you!" She finished off with a huff.

"Kayla, they were funny to begin with but when you kept saying them over and over again -"
"Like that avocado one you kept saying in archery, " Austin cut in, much to the annoyance of Will.
"I guess I'll just stop saying them then, " Kayla sighed dramatically. "Maybe I'll just stop being funny altogether. Maybe I was never funny!" Will snorted before trying to hide it as a cough.
"See, Kayla, " Austin began. "That was much funnier because you came up with it."
"Hey, stop trying to make this day prove a point or something!" Kayla whined as she stood up for food. Her eyes gleamed with joy as she gave each of her brothers a head shove before darting off to the queue.
