I fluttered my eyes open I looked around to see Chizuru's Tatami mat was empty a fit of worry came over me and I sat up too quickly and winced at the pain. I was only met with a familiar pair of Emeber eyes." Is she." my voice felt wobbly and croaky.

"No she's taking a walk. She's perfectly fine there's not a scratch on her." he said looking down his jovial tone had left him and I could hear the anger that laced into his words.

I set myself down instantly calming down at the news."Thats okay then"

"Actually Y/n no it's not." I turned of toward the familiar voice it was Harada San siting on propped knee he looked silent and unmoving. He mumbled something that I couldn't quite hear.

"hm."

"I said you are really stupid" his blazing ember eyes seemed like they were burning into mine. The room felt heavy. " What business did you have warding off those men Y/n."

I used my elbows to prop myself up. " I was in the business of protecting myself and my sister Harada San." he looked twitchy and I rested my hand on top of his." She's all I've got Harada San."

He held my hand tugged me towards him my back was in his chest as his arms surrounded." Not anymore Y/n." he continued." Kondou ment what he said over this year and half you have integrated into our family, both of you that now you are members of the shinsegumi and I don't know what I'd do. What any of us would do if they took either of you."

Tears started to trickled down my face as I grasped his arm closer." I'm so sorry Harada San."

" it's okay" he whispered trying to calm me down. I don't know why but I snuggled in closer until my eyes weighed down and closed he lowered me back into bed and I felt a light brush if warm hair on my forehead and with that he left.

The next day Chizuru and I were doing the laundry in the garden.

"So Y/n what is going on with you and Harada San."

I continued to do my work. " I don't know what you mean."

She looked at me incrediously." How's that Hijikata San doing lately you know while we're on the subject."

Chizuru rolled her eyes." He's been okay."

Eto San came and he seemed to be physically upset. "Eto San is something the matter." I cringed at the thought of even entertaining with him.

"Of corse there's something the matter that doctor Masimoto tried to forcibly disrobe me." he squeeled I turned my head and covered my mouth as to stop myself from laughing at him.

"Why does the name Masimoto sound familiar."

"He was one of dad's colleagues remember." she grabbed held of my hand." Well go and have an exam too."

We slid open the too find the room filled with shirtless men getting checked.

Checked and Nakagura San and Harada San were having flexing contest. Chizuru and I started to chuckle at the sight.

I'm guessing the headquarters the wasn't up to snuff with the doctor because later in the day we were all doing the chores. The gruff complain of the men were quite funny as we did the chores.

Later in the day me and Chizuru came across Heisuke sitting in his own." do you still feel ill." Chizuru asked.

He looked down. " No I'm fine I just didn't want to protect the shogun. It's like the shinsegumi used be its own thing but now ere just puppets for the bakafou. I'm just questioning things."

"Oh."

"Dont worry Chizuru Chan no matter who comes I won't let anyone hurt ya." the same goes for you two Y/n learn to rely on us more."

The same Masimoto sensei came up to us." Hello are your names Yukimura. "

We were in the meeting room with Kondou San and Masimoto Sensei. He was a close freind of the Doctor, he even knew about the secret medicine that he was working explaining how it wasnt the doctors idea to make such an abomination.

"however we have on more thing to show you." they left the room following to Kondou.

I turned to Chizuru." It's not much but thankfully it's not nothing." she gave me a small smile and nodded.
