Have you ever been in love with your best friend?
Do you know how hard it feels when the best friend falls in love with someone else?
The tall brunette with slim waist, perfect smile and somehow manages to pull of low waist jeans, that's her.
You've probably met someone like her, who's never had a problem with dressing in the morning because everything fits, never had to think about what she ate, wouldn't know the feeling of rejection or being a second choice.
I wasn't jealous of her, specifically, I never even felt jealous before this perfect girl started dating Niall, I really didn't, and she was nice and outgoing, polite and funny, she's perfect for him, but I just somehow imagined Niall ending up with me.
"Are you in love with Erin?" Harry whispered, snapping me out of my own thoughts.
I looked away from Erin where she sat a few tables ahead of them, next to Niall to stare at the curly figure beside me, teasing a smile towards me.
"No," I responded with a headshake, eyes leaving his lips and look up to his eyes, "My eye just got caught." Trying to play it off as nothing.
Harry beamed at me, "Yeah, whatever," he said lowly before turning his attention back to the math equation he was working on.
Harry wasn't really a friend of mine, we never hung out except in class because we were always sat next to each other, somehow our teachers thought it was a tremendous idea to place the students by last names, which placed me next to Styles, and Niall next to Erin Heathers...
"I'm really not," I continued, making sure he wouldn't go to his friends and spread a rumour about me being in love with my best friends girlfriend, that would be even more awkward than being in love with my best friend, right?
"Yeah, I believe you, Samuels," his sentence was screaming of irony.
I hated when he did that, and he always did. He never said my nickname, still on a full or last name basis even after three months of telling him off.
Yes. Three months they'd been placed this way in class and Niall fell in love with Erin. Him and I had known each other for fourteen years and he hadn't fallen in love with me yet.
"Sorry," Harry grinned again, still staring down at his notes, "Margaret."
His correction along with my complaining made me smile (even though I hated her full name, everyone called me Maggie or Mags...) he was quite nice actually, Harry Styles. I never really thought much of him, he was the boy who sometimes showed up an hour late to class and nobody flinched an eye, he sat by his friends Liam and Zayn in the cafeteria and was just... there. He was on the more 'popular' side of the students, him and his friends hung out with Erin Heathers and her pretty friends and I could think of at least four people I've known who's had a crush on Harry since fifth grade. Yet he was pretty down to earth, from what I'd seen in math and biology at least.
Even though we've always gone to the same school and even same class we never became friends, never barely spoke until we were placed next to each other.
He seemed kind, but I still couldn't really grasp him, I didn't know much about him at all more than who he was friends with and that he went to this school. And that he was surprisingly good at math.
"Thank you very much, Harold."
He rolled his eyes at that, as always and then we didn't speak for the rest of the class.

Today Erin sat with us at lunch.
"Isn't it social suicide to be in the musical?" Wienna, my other best friend questioned as she put another fry in her mouth.
Erin giggled, "No, I think it's actually pretty cool! I wish I could sing and I would've joined last year!"
"To be honest Wie, I think you'd have so much fun," I chipped in.
I felt a hand on mt back and then Louis sat down next to me by our table, "Oi oi, friends!" He said as he sat his ass on the bench, looking just as chipper as always.
"Mornin' Lou, isn't lunch a little too late to even bother showing up? You might as well stayed in bed," Niall laughed as they did their handshake.
"Oh, Horan my man, I am massively dedicated to get out of here by the end of next semester, which means I have to be here everyday."
"How's your English paper going then? The ten thousand word one, I promised I'd help you." I teased Louis, I knew he hadn't even started writing it since he called last night asking for her own, so that he could rewrite a bit to make it different.
He sighed and put his head straight down on the table, making the rest of us laugh, Erin loudest of all.
"Mags," Louis started and looked up at me, "Do me a favour?"
She knew precisely what he meant. It's the don't ruin my mood while I'm in a good mood-type of thing he says.
"Okay, so a friend of mine is having a birthday party Saturday, I'm inviting you all so I can decide whether or not I like you lot drunk as much as I do sober," Erin said and took her phone out, seconds later a snapchat shows up in our group chat with the address. (Yes, Niall even added her to their snapchat group.)
"Sound fun!" Wienna looked at me, knowing the struggles I had with hanging out outside of school with Niall and Erin, they were much cuddlier outside of the school walls...
"Too bad Louis and I have that English paper..."
"Yeah, obviously that comes first." He sighed.
"Oh, that's so unfortunate," Erin said apologetically. Making all of us stare at her wierdly since it was a quite obvious joke, "I'm asking Andy if we can turn this party into a study group, hows that?"
I looked at her for a second before realizing she was messing with us too, then we all caught on and laughed, Erin just grinned.
"I'm counting on you two," Pointing two fingers at Louis and I, "I'll even wing you guys with people!" Erin said before kissing Nialls cheek and then leaving the cafeteriatable with her tray.
"She's actually quite funny, for wearing Filas." Louis said as she left, giving a look to Niall.
"She's amazing."
To be honest it was hard not to like Erin. I could see why he picked her. I watched him stare at her as she left the cafeteria, saying her hellos to people she knew as she did, swinging her ponytail flawlessly with every step. I've never seen someone be so effortlessly perfect before.
The thoughest part was that as I watched Niall.
He was still watching her.
