It was thursday afternoon. Our last class was biology and my partner was late. We were doing a thing for two and since I was the uneven number, our teacher made me wait.

"He shows up soon enough, you can start the assignment." She said.

I didn't start the assignment. I was too invested in whatever happened a few tables ahead, where Niall and Erin had a laugh together, throwing erasers at each other and kissing inbetween. If I filed a complaint about PDA, would they both get expelled? Oh but then they'd be able to kiss at home...

The door swung open and in rushed a flustered Harry with his books in one hand as usual, he didn't even look at our teacher and she didn't look at hin either. The usual.

"Thank you for showing up, partner."

Harry was out of breath as he sat down, "I was held back at home."

"You go home for lunch?"

He looked up at me, "Yeah sometimes, I have stuff."

I frowned, "Whatever you say."

Harry checked the board for what we were doing and then started writing down notes, and I kind of followed his lead and we finished everything in silence. It was another one of those days where he was just quiet.

The bell rang half an hour later and Harry was quick to assemble his things, he gave me an apologetic look as he stood up, "You know what they say about gray clouds?" He said.

I was confused, since when were we talking about clouds? Or even speaking at all?

"Uhm-" I couldn't finish my sentence before I was interrupted by both Erin and Niall approaching me, we were grabbing coffee with the others after school.

"Ready?" Erin asked me and then shot a glance at Harry, "Joining us for coffee?"

Harry grabbed his phone in his free hand and shook his head, "Thank you for inviting me, but I don't drink coffee."

Then he was gone.

"You know, I can never really understand that boy, he switches moods as often as I change my underwear." Erin looked out the door where he just went.

"You two must talk alot, is he always like that?" she asked me. Shouldn't she know better? I thought they hung out sometimes...

"We really don't talk alot."

Niall grabbed Erin by the waist and nodded for me to join them out the door, "Bet you're crushing on him, Maggie." Niall grinned.

Oh boy, aren't you delusional.

"Yeah I'm hopelessly in love with my deskmate Harold who doesn't speak and shows up late for every fucking class."

Erin laughed, "I think he's a drug dealer or something, at least that's what I've heard."

Yeah. Why else would he be late for class after lunch? Idiot.

———

Erin had to leave early today for dance class (yes of course she dances!!! what can't she do!!!) and obviously she'd talked Wienna into joining her, which left me with Louis and Niall.

It was nice. It was a long time ago just the three of us hung out. Since Wienna and us became friends last year we'd barely been just us, and now we've got Erin as well.

I didn't mind Erin and Wienna hanging out without me, I liked Erin as a person. Kinda wish I didn't though.

"And then, before I even got to react to the fucking thing he said, he fucking kissed me again?!" Louis was almost shouting over the whole coffeeshop as he was telling us the story about the boy last weekend who told Louis he loved him after knowing him for five hours.

"Was he hot?" Niall asked.

Louis shrugged, "Meh, you're fitter."

I giggled and took another sip of my coffee, "What about the girl... What's her name?"

"Oh Sheila, I can't stand that woman!" Louis continued to complain about his love life as Niall and I were listening, intrigued. Louis always had the best stories and best reactions to every story, I'd never met someone so dramatic over a girl who walked on her toes rather than heel.

"I couldn't stand her walking like that! Jumping up and down with every step it was exhausting to keep the same pace as her."

"Your turn, Mags, who the fuck is Harry Styles, like really?" Louis looked over at me and crossed his arms.

"Like I said, I don't know him."

"Come on, now! You haven't dated anyone since eight grade and Tom was a nerd," Niall continued.

The reminder of Tom Bennet from middle school almost made me shiver, not the good kind. Remembering how he always wore button ups with even the last button closed, I sometimes wondered if he even could breathe normally...

"We need you to get laid."

I raised my brows at the two of them, "Oh so Niall loses his virginity and now I have to do it as well?"

The words sounded weird coming out of my mouth, but it would be weirder if I never acknowledged it at all.

Louis laughed, "It's not about Ni, it's about your mood lately, love. You don't have to fuck anyone but at least have a snog with someone, nothing wrong with needing someone to snuggle."

He wasn't wrong. And they had caught up on my mood. At least Louis and Wienna knew why, Niall on the other hand was as blue eyed as always, you'd think he'd know all my moods and the reason for them after fourteen years like I know his'. His fake laugh, his look when he's uncomfortable or when he's lying... Every single one.

Maybe I'm crazy for even noticing the small things.

"I'd actually snog you if it wasn't for Niall."

I snorted, "What does he have to do with it?" Worried Louis was about to expose me.

"Oh believe me, Mags, if you slept with Louis I'd punch you both in the face." Niall agreed with Louis' words.

It was comforting knowing Niall does care who I'd date. Though he didn't ask anybody for an opinion on Erin.

"Harry's tall, dark and handsome." Louis winked at me.

"Harry's not on the table, no pun intended," I shook my head, "Guys I'm not interested in having someone, I'm all good." Lie. I'd love someone. Preferably a brunette Irish man.

Louis uncrossed his arms and held me by the shoulders, "I did hear Tom Bennet moved up to college already, and he's single."

We all laughed and then Louis and Niall carried on another conversation as I looked down at my phone, noticing Erin posted a picture of Wienna and her on her story.

I looked over my phone to see my two guy best friends laugh about nonense and hitting each other while spilling coffee.

"It's a sunny day when you're gone." I mumbled to myself as I realized what Harry had said before. And it truly was, I thought as I clicked past Erins story without another look.
