Isabelle's POV
When we got to the mall, the time was 11:30. I parked in a spot near Forever 21, and we all got out of the car.
We quickly waked into the mall,
motivated by the cold air nipping at our skin."Could we please stop at Starbucks?" Annie whined.
"Ugh fine." I say play teased, Annie ALWAYS wanted to go to Starbucks.
So, we walked from the entrance to the food court, where we easily found one. As usual for this time of year, Annie and Gabs both ordered a PSL, and I got a peppermint mocha.
We sipped our drinks as we walked through the stores, trying on cloths and continuing to catch up with each other. As expected, Annie and Gabrella insisted I try on a shit ton of dresses and skirts, each one I turned down.
"Come on Isabelle. You've got to get a dress, if anything just for homecoming." Gabs whined.
I sighed, our school held homecoming late for some reason, which is why it's the middle of October and it still hasn't happened. I hadn't been been planning on going this year, for obvious reasons, I mean there was no way I could get a date, and no one would want to come with me even as a friend.
We walked into Windsor, where loads of dresses were laid out I front of us.
"Okay, I'll be impressed if you don't like even ONE of these dresses." Anna laughed.
"Well, prepare to be impressed." I responded.
"I bet that we could find a dress that you like for prom." Gabi smiled.
"Is that a challenge?" I questioned.
"Only if you want it to be." She replied slyly.
"Okay then, try to find a dress for me, I doubt you will." I laughed, and they disappeared into the store together, grabbing dresses and comparing them.
After what seems like an eternity, they came back with a giant stack of dresses. They dropped the pile into my arms and I stumbled over to the dressing room, the weight of the dresses pulling me down. In all they'd picked out fifteen dresses, of all different styles, lengths, and colors.
I tried all of them on, not liking any of them, until one, it had a short pastel pink-colored layered skirt, and a strapless top covered in jewels.
I twirled around in it, smiling, the jewels on the top sparkling around the room.
"Have we proved you wrong yet?" Gabs called from outside.
I smiled and walked out. Meeting gasps from both Annie and Gabriella.
"You look great." Annie said with a warm smile.
"Thanks." I said, blushing.
"And we proved you wrong!" Gabriella grinned.
"Yes, you did." I laughed. "I guess I'm not as stubborn as I thought I was."
"Alright! Go get changed so you can buy it!"
I smiled as I walked back into the dressing room and changed back into my normal clothes. Then proceeded to walk out and buy the dress.
"What about you guys, don't you need to get dresses?" I asked Gabs and An while I checked out.
"We already got them." Annie answered.
"Yeah." Gabriella agreed.
"Oh. Okay." I said, a bit disappointed, even though I know that they never could have gone with me.
"We didn't mean to leave you out! It's just uh, um..."
"It's fine, don't worry about it Gabs." I laugh, even though it's not so fine. I wanted to spend every moment with these girls that I could, but, after last year, that couldn't happen.
We had all bonded in freshman year over the fact that we were transfers from America. For a lot of people, it must sound crazy that our families just up and left for Australia, but Summit is one of the best schools in the world, so it was worth it for us when I got a scholarship for dance. It was a great opportunity- an amazing school for me, and a chance for her to start a new life, away from the grief of my dad's death.
"Okay." She mumbled. I could feel the tension between the three of us.
"Uh-okay so. We should probably head back so we'll get home before dark!" I suggested, breaking that awful silence.
"Y-yeah sure, let's." Gabriella said, perking back to life.
The car ride back was the complete opposite of the ride there. We made lousy attempts at conversations at some points, and the others were spent in total silence.
I could only hope tomorrow will be better.
AN: So yeah, I finally updated... I hate to use the same excuse, but I just didn't really know what I wanted to do with this part, but don't worry, I've got the next part covered (or, at least I think I do...). Okay bye for now.
