"Psst." I whispered. Elliot turned around with a questioning look. I nodded, telling him to follow. He sighed but did reluctantly.
He grabbed my arm, stopping me, and raised an eyebrow. He crossed his arms. "First of all, be male. Secondly, we're ditching them. I hear there's going to be a bonfire at ten which is in twenty minutes."
He quickly shook his head. "What? Why?" I asked. "Too many kids from school." He shrugged. "Please, you don't have to talk."
"Wasn't going to anyways." He said. "Please?" I begged. "It's just... if I take you.. people will think that you.. that I..."
"Who cares what they think? Please? Before they find out we're missing?"
He sighed and ran a hand down his face. "Fine. But this is the only one I'll ever go to." He stated stubbornly. "I'll take what I can get."
I then grabbed his hand and tried to keep my knees from wobbling. I dragged him all the way to the campfire. Before we got there, he gingerly removed his hand from mine. I guess a hurt expression appeared on my face because he quickly said, "Just so people don't get the wrong idea."
Wrong idea. What if I want it to be the right idea?
I nodded but was still.. hurt, I guess. We walked over to the bonfire, and I immediately noticed him.
"Hey! Who are you pe- Oh, Elliot. What are you doing here?" He snarled at Elliot. "Nice to know I was forgotten so easily." I intervened.
He turned to me with a look of annoyance, "And you are?"
Elliot then stepped in front of me. "Elliot, no need to be guard dog. Just want to check out the view." Another guy whistled while eyeing me down. It was then that I moved more behind Elliot. "Aww, she's so innocent." Another said, groping my butt. I jumped, and Elliot turned, quickly punching the guy in the jaw.
"Elliot! Don't!" I shouted. "Wait a second.. Erica?" It's about time. "Yes, Nick?" I smirked. "Well I'll be da-"
"Umph!" I turned around to see the other guy had tackled Elliot, but couldn't do any harm due to Elliot's fast instincts. I gave Nick a dead-panned look. "Josh, back off."
"Oh, and will you please tell the creep to stop feeling me up with his eyes?" I asked. "What did you call me?" He growled. He then advanced towards me, but Elliot was in his face in seconds. "Quit being guard dog, da-"
"If anyone here's a mutt it's you." I snapped. "I swear to god, if you open your mouth one more time... I'll-"
"Jake! Enough!" Nick barked. "Yeah, get back to your sluts." I smirked. He glared at me but turned around and walked back to the two girls in string bikinis.
Elliot then grabbed my hand and began to pull me away. "Well, that didn't last long."
Elliot dropped my hand and continued to walk. "Elliot! Wait! What did I do?" I called. He just kept walking. "Elliot! Come on, don't be like this!"
"Don't be like what? Pissed off? Well, guess what! It'll happen a lot around me! You don't want to deal with it? Then maybe you shouldn't pester me to do things I don't want to! Or better? Just stay away from me!" He snapped.
What? I sighed, "Fine. If you feel that way, you should've said it a long time ago. I'll stay out of your life from now on. Sorry I was such a nuisance."
I then turned and walked away. "Wait, Erica." He sighed. "No, I get it." I mumbled.

"Where were you?" Luke questioned as soon as I walked in the door. "The beach." I said. "Oh, really?"
"Yes, Luke! Really! Now, please! I just want to go to bed." I sighed. "Erica, what happened?"
