I hadn't talked to Luke for two weeks, and he hadn't tried to talk to me for two weeks. I tried to stay at the beach as much as possible, usually with the company of Elliot.
We still haven't went on that second date he told me about. I'm disappointed but haven't mentioned it.
I laid on my towel alone today. Elliot had some family thing he had to go to. I absent-mindedly pulled my top up, seeing Nick and his followers walking this way.
"Hey, Rica. What's up?" Nick asked, stopping in front of me. "I stopped allowing you to call me that three years ago." I laughed. "Too bad. Where's your bae?"
"You're standing on it." I smirked. "Not bay. Bae!" He laughed. "Yeah, I know. He had something to do."
"Wouldn't be wearing that without guard dog around." One of his mutts said, eyeing me up while I sat here in my bikini. "I'll go change then." I said, standing up.
"Don't leave!" Nick pouted playfully before laughing. Dumb exes never leave do they? "I need to get going anyways. They'll be looking for me in a few."
"Then let them look." He shrugged. "I've caused enough trouble. I really need to get back." I really didn't want to be here. "Okay, fine. But there's a bonfire Saturday if you wanna join."
"I think I'll pass. Thanks though." Then I ran before he could argue.

Elliot: I'm so bored. I should've brought you with me. :(
Me: You're supposed to be catching up with family.
Elliot: But I wanna talk to you :( You leave in a month.
Me: Don't remind me. :(
Elliot: Aww... gonna miss me? ;)
Me: Are you kidding? My waves! :(
Elliot: </3
Me: <3 ;)
Elliot: I'll be home shortly. Talk to you later. <3
Me: Okay :) Have fun.
Elliot: I'll try. But you're not here. ;)
Me: Stop it! xD I'll talk to you later. :)
Elliot: Okay, okay!
I set my phone to the side, working on some summer work I had. It wasn't hard. It was actually quite easy. But if I don't do it now, I won't do it when I get home.
A knock on the door made me pause my music. "Yes?" I asked. Mr. King walked in and smiled, "Hey, Cupcake."
"Hey." I said, moving papers out of the way so he could sit down. "Is this a bad time or-"
"No, no! You're fine." I smiled. He took a seat, grabbing my hand. "So, about this whole thing with Luke..." I should have known this was coming. "He was totally out of line, saying what he did and doing what he did. But I don't think the silent treatment works."
I sighed, "I know. But he hasn't talked to me either." A chuckled escaped his lips, "He wants to. Trust me. He does. He just knows he was wrong for everything and doesn't want to confront you and make you even more mad.
"He likes you, as you know, and he doesn't want to make his chances worse." He finished. "Oh, trust me, he's ruined any chance he had."
"Let him down easy, okay?" He asked, "Just know, he didn't mean what he said about your brother. He'd never intentionally make you upset."
