It was, to say the least, incredibly awkward.

Well, to be fair, I was incredibly awkward.

Where I would stutter and trip, Ming was flawless and perfect. She kept up the pleasant conversation from the house and into the car, without paying me any more attention than usual. She smiled and laughed and talked like a normal girl while I stood behind it all watching her with amazement. While she kept the amicable façade, her soul was a raging torrent of emotions so strong I had no idea how she kept it all down. So many feelings and emotions she hid so perfectly that if I hadn't been an Empath, I would've completely bought that she was doing fine.

We said goodbye to Mrs Nakamura when we got to the mall and searched for Angelica and them. I realised now that Ming would only be more shocked upon meeting them, and they too would be shocked. For all that they had heard of Ming, I hadn't exactly found a way to tell them she was a Shaman.

"This place is so big," Ming said in amazement. "Are you sure we won't get lost?"

"Don't worry babe," Jasper grinned as he wrapped his arm around her, "Today, you're only as lost as we are."

"Okay," I said, "Angelica said they're already waiting by the bowling centre."

"Then onward, my friends!" He led the charge with a big grin on his face and Ming laughed, and for the first time her chaotic emotions settled.

I was standing a little bit behind her, waiting for her to make her move. I could tell that she was plotting something, coming up with some way to sort me out. I just had to keep a close eye on her and watch out for that.

"So where's the bowling centre?" She asked Jasper as we walked through the crowds.

"After the fast food centre," he replied.

"Where all the good things are." Katie added.

  "And the toilet?" She asked.

  "Toilet? We just got here."

"I know, but I think I had a bit too much to drink before. I really need it."

"Oh, okay, well. . ." Jasper looked around with a clearly confused frown on his face.

"There's a sign right there," Clare said with a sigh and pointed to it.

"Thanks," she flashed Clare a grateful smile. "I'll try be quick."

Was this a part of her plan? Did she want me to do something about this? Was toilet code for something else?? I could've sworn I was the one losing my mind. When we got to them, just before Ming walked off, she looked at me, so fast I would've missed it completely if I hadn't been razor focused on her. Then she walked towards the toilet. But I completely got the intention from that look, her soul blaring and giving off one message: Follow me.

The corridor to the toilets had a turn, so we could hide behind the wall and talk.

But it would be too weird to just follow right after her, right? I could sense her stop just behind the wall and decided to wait for five minutes before suddenly announcing my desire to use the toilet as well.

"Okay but hurry up." Jasper said. "Ming's already been in there forever."

I quickly hurried off, almost running at that point, and when I turned the corner, I immediately felt hands on me before I was pushed against the wall by Ming.

"The fuck took you so long?" She asked with an annoyed tone.

  "S – sorry. I didn't want to seem suspicious."
