It's been a few days since we all last saw coach, not that we wanted to see him considering what had happened at our last recent game. But it was around 8 in the morning when mom got a phone call from the coach saying to meet at 'Hans' sport shop' he wanted to make it up to us all for his attitude. Once I got dressed:

I rushed downstairs and headed towards the door where I had put my shoes down, once I slipped them on I walked out of the house towards the car waiting for me. Charlie's mom had offered to drive us- being Charlie and myself- to the location. When we arrived at the shop we saw the rest of the team there waiting for Coach. Charlie and I raced out of the car bidding his mom a goodbye. We stood with the team waiting for the doors to open and when they did we were met with Coach and an older man I suspected to be Hans. They let us in and we immediately rushed in looking at all of the cool, brand new gear. We all split up in different directions, Terry and Jesse using the hockey gloves as boxing gloves to beat up Averman and Karp, Goldberg was struggling to put on the hockey pants, he even managed to fall over. I was looking at the helmets when I heard a commotion, I turned my head to see Charlie standing next to a bunch of fallen hockey sticks, he saw me looking and tried to play it off like he didn't do it. I walked over to him laughing at the sight, we then picked some of them up as there was too many. We were all messing around in the shop and I even saw Goldberg dancing once he put on the pants. I walked over to Charlie who was standing next to this hockey stick stand that looked like it was ice. He couldn't get the hockey stick out of it and someone noticed he was struggling and came to his aid. It was Fulton, he picked the hockey stick out of it like it was nothing and handed it to Charlie. "Thanks, Fulton" Charlie said as Fulton stared at the two of us, his gaze lingering on me for a bit before he nodded and walked away. I then walked over to Coach who then asked "Who was that kid?" Guy came up to us and said "That's, Fulton Reed. He's in one of my classes." Coach then looked over at Fulton's retreating figure, "How come he's not on the team?" Just then Jesse walked up to us and joined in on our conversation "He only plays football. Some preppie school gave him a scholarship  as long as he doesn't play hockey. They don't want him gettin' hurt." Jesse shrugged, Guy than gave us his input "I heard it was colleges. He's been accepted to four of 'em." I shook my head not believing in any of these rumours. Goldberg leaned his head in "Yeah, but I heard he's got to repeat the sixth grade." Jesse and Guy shoved him away saying "Ah, shut up!" Once we got all of our gear sorted, Coach walked up to the counter and payed for it all, let's just say it wasn't cheap.

We were back at the rink watching people ice skate, while we had our hockey gear on our shoulders weighing us down. "Dude, check 'em out, man." Goldberg said nudging Peter, who walked up closer to the boards "Holy cow. They're pretty good skaters." Coach agreed, asking us "Anybody know who they are?" Terry stepped up closer to the boards leaning on his hockey stick as he said "That's Tommy Duncan. He's in my science class. That's his sister, Tammy." He sighed at the end, looking at her with a dreamy expression. "Think they'd want to play hockey with us?" We all nodded "Yeah." Elka, Grace, Connie and I all shared a look, a look that said 'we are going to get another girl on the team.' We all smiled as coach said "Go get dressed. I'll do the negotiating." Once we got dressed we came out to see Tammy and Tommy dressed as well, we headed onto the ice as coach was still talking to the two. We all lined up as Coach said "Back to basics! Skating!" He then blew the whistle, as one by one we all skated in and out of each cone, "Go! Go! Side to side. Shift your weight! Get comfortable on your edges. That's good, that's good." Karp then started to wobble "Keep your balance, Karp. Trust your edges." Just as he finished saying that, Charlie slipped and fell knocking over some cones "That's okay, Charlie."
