How imaginative
How illustrative
And how ruthless it is
To make the kids believe
And then snatch the fairytale to bring them back in ease
All the tales of beadles and bards,
The giants,
The queens,
Were only proven to be
Mere tales in the end
You curl up in bed
Facing your first heartbreak
So it was all a lie you think
Or is tinker bell possibly hiding
In the attic
"Let me take a peek" you think
Only to remorse with guilt
"There is no such thing"
"There is no such thing"
You turn to close your eyes
In your dream you see the means
Of fairytales and pounding beasts
And slowly you fall asleep
Slightly wishing it never ends
Only to be startled and raised
You look out the window and see
The sun is up and you ought to flee
The lines are only getting longer
And still you wonder
If it ever ends
If in the other side there is a fairytale.
