I said nothing because I could not express The obvious:
My shoulders have held up things much heavier than my t-shirt you've soaked with your tears. It has been the foundation below a mountain of crippling thoughts piled to the heavens. These arms have engulfed things much more unforgiving than your body. Like hateful names that do not belong but were swallowed whole anyway.
Yet, the mountain is never heavy enough to dip me into hell and I hug all the dirt only to warm it just enough so it may bloom new life.
So you see, I am nice to you because I am strong and life-giving.
That is what I wish you would have asked, "Teach me."
