Next Day

The sun had just set over the Rocky Mountains, the night sky a beautiful green and black hue. Tucked away a top a large rock formation was a large fortress completely hidden away from the rest of the world. The only signs of life was the lights that illuminated it, along with a few men carrying automatic weapons that patrolled the halls.

One of the men slowly walked down one of the halls only to suddenly be punched and knocked out by Batman who appeared from no where. Batman continued down the hall and charged another guard just as he turned around only for him to yelp in fright.

•••

An older gentleman with brown hair that was greying at the sides with a grey beard and green eyes set a wine glass down on his desk as he paused in his writing. He wore a dark green suit with white puffy cuffs and a matching ascot, a long green cloak draped over his shoulders. This man was Ra's Al Ghul, a supervillain and terrorist that Batman had crossed paths with on occasion.

Ra's was also the leader of a shadow organization called the League of Assassins. Ra's slowly got out of his chair and glanced around the room, the feeling of a presence nearby. He quietly wandered over to the window wall and stared at it in silence, his eyes soon widening in surprise as a hand broke through the window and yanked him out onto the terrace. Ra's was thrown to the ground by the figure now revealed to be Batman who pulled Ra's arm behind his back.

"What did you do to Jason?" Batman demanded. "Act like you don't know what I'm talking about and I'll dislocate the shoulder. That's just to start." "If you haven't disabled the roof sensors, my guards will be here in under a minute." Ra's informed. "Answer me." Bruce demanded, pulling Ra's arm further back making the man grunt in pain.

"I'm willing to!" Ra's said. "But it'll be more expedient if you hand me the communicator in my pocket and I call off my men." Batman said nothing as he stared Ra's down for a moment before he silently retrieved the communicator and held it up for Ra's to speak into. "Commander, this is Ra's Al Ghul." Ra's spoke.

•••

Three armed guards arrived just outside the door to Ra's room only to pause upon hearing Ra's voice through their communicators. "Stand down. I will be entertaining a guest in my study." Ra's commander, a bald headed man by the name of Ubu, motioned silently for his men to stand down which they did, though they remained outside the door should they be called.

Ra's Al Ghul's Study

Ra's quietly poured himself a new glass of wine, Batman standing silently across from him. "Do you remember when we last became embattled?" Ra's asked. "You were planning to blow up banks." Batman recalled. "Accurate, if inelegant." Ra's confirmed as memories flooded his mind.

Flashback

*I was in the midst of toppling the economy in Europe. But you were on to me.*

Ra's calmly walked through the snow away from a helicopter, Ubu and his men following close behind. They all came to a stop a little ways away from a figure in front of them.

*I sought a distraction. So I hired the Joker.*

The figure was revealed to be the Joker wearing a purple suit with a green undershirt and orange vest. A few of the Joker's men, all wearing orange overall jumpsuits, stood behind him. Lightning illuminated the sky as his feral smile and crazed eyes widened in excitement.
