And somehow, both of them fell asleep.

Or did they?

Jo yeong had his eyes closed, facing the wall. Far from Lee Gon, which he assumed was sleeping already.

After a couple of minutes, Yeong opened his eyes, only to be met with completely darkness. He glanced beside him, and saw Lee Gon's figure. He couldn't see properly, due to the darkness that surrounded the whole room.

Soon after, he faced the wall once again. He wasn't going to stay there all night. They could be caught sleeping together. It's a normal thing, he thought. But by the eyes of others they could misunderstand the situation. Anyone could, honestly. The King wouldn't let an ordinary person inside their room, ON his bed for the night, even if they were friends. So the reason why Lee Gon asked Jo Yeong has been kept a mystery for the male, who was now confused, lacking sleep.

You're probably wondering why Yeong is so flustered and confused for just sleeping beside the King. Well, Yeong keeps having those feelings, weird feelings around Lee Gon. They've been getting worse, more frequently actually. The boy has been trying to get rid of those feelings, he hasn't succeeded as you can see. Lee Gon doesn't make it any easier either. Always making him get flustered about small things.

Jo Yeong decided, he'll act like he doesn't care anymore. He can't let himself fall for someone who isn't even trying to make him fall inlove, probably.

Just when he was sure the King was already sleeping, he sat up. Attempting to get his shoes, that were placed on the floor, by the bed.

"Yeong-ah." He heard, as he felt embraced from behind. Restraining him from leaving.

"Y- your highness.." He murmured under his breath, he was shocked once again by the King's actions.

Lee Gon sat there, silently for a moment. As every second passed Jo Yeong swore it was getting hotter.

"I'm leaving-"

"Are you avoiding me?" Lee Gon asked, on a serious tone.

"I got lots of work to do, so I wouldn't call it that... I'm just busy." He said, trying to act serious but he was actually very nervous.

"You can do that tomorrow."

"I'll be busy tomorrow as well, I have a few arrangements." Jo Yeong answered, freeing himself from the King's embrace.

"Sleep well." Said Jo Yeong.

Not looking back, he left the room. Leaving Lee Gon alone.

Next day

He was sleepy, he didn't sleep at all after Lee Gon did that last night. He felt weird yet a bit sad for leaving Lee Gon alone, but he couldn't bare to stay there any longer. Jo Yeong didn't know why Lee Gon acted like that towards him, but he knew he was taking it the wrong way. Whatever the King's doings were meant for, he was making Jo Yeong confused about it.

But putting all of that aside, Jo Yeong started getting ready. Even if he was tired he had to do his job.

He took his suit, and started to dress up. Putting his shoes on, he headed to the small bathroom and did his normal routine. After doing his hair, he headed outside of his room. Just as he got out, he was met by one of the guards.

"There is someone who wants to see you, Captain." The guard said straightforward. Telling Jo Yeong where the meeting place was going to be in.

Yeong knew it wasn't someone from a high rank or anything, from the guards attitude it was probably one of his family memebers or something.

He arrived nearby the castle, next to some trees. He was supposed to meet that current person in here, in the castle's hall. That was when he heard some footsteps heading his way.

He turned around to be met by...

"Seung- ah!!" Jo Yeong yelled, as he ran towards his best friend.

They've been friends for a long time, she's the only one who actually knows Jo Yeong the best. So, he acts normal when he's around her. He doesn't need to hide his true self from her, and that's what made their friendship.

"Aishh, can you stop acting like a kid for once?" She said, jokingly and hugged Jo Yeong anyways.

"Wahh, You even came to visit me. I'm so happy~!"" Jo Yeong hummed.

"First of all, we literally saw eachother two days ago. Second of all, I came for work. WORK." She said, smacking him on his forehead.

"Ack- So mean.." He said, pouting while rubbing his forehead.

"Psh- Anyways, did you find the pictures I told you to?" Jo Yeong asked.

"Ah, yeah. That traitor's follower, he did turn old- He looks quite uglier than before." She said jokingly, making Jo Yeong laugh until his mouth hurted.

"PFFT, Look who's talking-" He said as he laughed even more.

"YAH! Did you just call me old?!" She yelled at him.

As the both of them argued playfully, they felt someone's presence. Just as Jo Yeong turned around...That person took him by his arm, harshly. Leading him to who knows where.

"What the-" He stopped speaking as the person turned his head, his way.

He quickly got rid of his smile, and turned serious

"Ah- You're Highness. Are you here to give me another task?" Yeong said, not expecting to be seen by the King.

"There it goes again." Lee Gon said, with a serious tone.

It was quite scary, for Jo Yeong to hear him like that. He would usually use this kind of tone on serious cases. Yet, he did it now.

"Um, wha-"

"You seemed cheerful over there." Said Lee Gon, not making eye contact with him.

"Oh, that. She's a childhood friend of mine, we were just--"

"So, you don't consider me a 'Friend', Is that it?" Lee Gon spoke, once again.

"What- Of course I do, Your Majesty." Jo Yeong said, slightly confused.

"Yet, you're avoiding me."

"I was busy-" Jo Yeong got interrupted once again.

"But you weren't as busy to hang out and have fun with that friend of yours."

"That is.., It was just work." Jo Yeong said, trying not to get caught as for why he's avoiding him in the first place.

"When you're doing your job, you never smile at me like that."

"Well...It's quite difficult to have a smile at times like th-

Yeong got cut off, as he got pushed against the wall. Feeling a pair of lips smash into his, soon after.
