Mew sat in his apartment with Mild lingering in the kitchen.
"Are you hungry?" Mew asked unsure why the guy was not settling when he had come in 30 mins ago.
"No I want some coffee maybe."
"You know where you can find it."
"Have you heard about the new series?"
"Oh yeah I have. I read about it online" Mew said distractedly on his phone.
"I'm going to audition"
Mew sat up. It got his attention. He had the same mindset too.
"Audition for which role?" He looked at Mild eyebrows raised.
"Techno is just me."
"Want me to come with?" He asked with a hint of excitement in his voice. Mild was surprised.
"You're going to audition too?"
"I might." Mew said hesitantly.
"Which role?" Mild asked coming to sit in the lounge with a cup of coffee
"Maybe San. Something that doesn't bring too much attention" He said in a quiet voice.
The atmosphere became gloomy.
"Are you afraid of last time repeating." Mild questioned putting his cup on the small table besides the couch.
"Yeah I'll be lucky to even get that role. I'm still settling from the uproar. I'm sure they don't want people with controversies on their drama. I couldn't get a role in 2Moons2 probably because of that."
"I understand what you're saying but just don't limit yourself. Let them decide who they want on their drama. Just do your best and let God do the rest. Besides, you have a good fan base." Mild was trying to cheer him up. He knew how much Mew loves his fans.
"Yeah I'm just thankful Mewlions they're just supportive and keep me going."
"You guys still talk?" Mild was slowly opening Mew's wounds.
"What's there to even talk about? I don't have anything to say to him."
Mild was concerned but he was curious too so he went on. "What he said during his instagram live was it true?" they never had a chance to talk about it.
Mew squeezed his eyes as he felt his heart breaking. "Some of it were true." He was embarrassed even admitting it.
Mild understood. It was a tough subject and one so painful too. His friend had been outed infront of his fans and future jobs prospects. Was he even outed?
"So about the kiss," Mild paused, "was it true that you tried to kiss him?"
Mew sat up from where he was sitting. "I thought he wanted it."
"Did he say he wanted it?" Mild wanted the facts.
"His actions said it" Mew was frustrated. He could feel like he it was happening right then.
"P'Mew"
"I know... I know ok. I misread it but he didn't have to do that." Mew finished his eyes full of pain. He sat down and covered his face. When Art had gone live, he didn't know what to do. He was mortified. His friends had called him asking what was going on and he didn't know what to say. He had turned off his phone for the day.
"Was if because of the fan meetings?" Mild asked wanting clarity.
"Even when we were together without the cameras he....he never said no. He never showed any signs of discomfort. I thought my actions were clear as day but somehow they weren't.
"That's why you should've asked. Actions alone are not enough when it comes to matters like these. There's this thing called affirmative consent maybe you..
"Yeah I know" Mew cut Mild from going on. He could feel a headache approaching.
"I'll just be careful in the future. Mild took the hint. He didn't discuss it any further.
"You want to go together to the audition?"
"I'm going to need my fans there if I'm going to the audition. I need their support." Mew said in followed by a deep sigh. He laid back on the couch and faced the ceiling.
"Ok then I'll meet you there."
That night before he went to bed, Mew talked to the president of his fan club. Letting her know how he was going to audition for TharnType the series and how he want some few fans to be there with him.
When the day came for the auditions, Mew was nervous but his Mewlions somehow calmed his heart down. They hung out in the waiting area just chatting answering some questions from his dear fans and in the corner of the room someone was keeping an eye on him.
Curious.
Admiring.
Waiting...
