Knight In Shining Armor

A/N - Hi, I'm still alive and it's midnight :)

John's POV

   Alex and I lay on the couch, my face buried in Alex's chest as he runs his fingers through my hair. We haven't said a word in awhile. It was just too much for me. Ma's grave...I just couldn't. I'm glad Alex was there for me. I love him so much. "John?" He asked suddenly.
   "Hm?" 
   "Should I forgive my dad?" I looked up at him and shrugged.
   "I don't know, baby. Do you want too?" Alex sighed and I slipped my hand up his shirt. 
   "I don't know. What do you think?" 
   "Well...I think he's a jerk." 
   "I know. I don't know what to do." 
   "The way I see it, baby...If he really wanted back in your lives he wouldn't be trying to control you or kick me out. Why now? After all these years?" 
   "He called me."
   "What? When?" I sat up a bit and Alex huffed.
   "When you went in to get the food."
   "Why didn't you tell me?" 
   "You were upset about your mom and I didn't wanna-" I kissed him and he blushed.
   "You can talk to me, Alex. You know that. We've been over this."
   "I know." He sighed.
   "I love you."
   "I love you too."
   "Now. What'd he say?" Alex huffed and nuzzled into me. 
   "He said it was disrespectful of me to go on a trip without his permission and James wasn't my parent so he doesn't get to make that decision." He mumbled.
   "What'd you say."
   "I told him he's been gone for six years and James is my legal guardian and then hung up on him."
   "Nice." I felt Alex scoff a bit and kissed his head. "It'll get better. I promise."
   "You promise?" He asked, looking up at me with dewy violet eyes and quivering lip. 
   "Yeah. It always gets better." I smiled.
   "Remember the first time we talked as soulmates?" Alex randomly asked.
   "What do you mean?
   "When I wrote on my arm."
   "Yeah. I nearly died." I chuckled. "I thought you figured it out." Alex giggled a bit and leaned back into the couch. 
   "I was terrified but I still did it."
   "I'm glad you did."
   "Thank you." 
   "For what, love?" 
   "For being my knight in shining armor." I smiled and pressed a kiss on his lips.
   "I will always be your knight." I smiled. "Side note. I will joust Andre." I smirked and Alex snorted. "And I will win the hand of the fairest maiden in all the land." I teased, kissing the back of his hand as he laughed hysterically. 
   "Then you shall have it."
