First Encounter

Bangkok's evening was still hot even with small breeze , I was standing in front of familiar hospital (as I has been used to coming here since I am old enough to remember.. ) and unconsciously touching my painful tummy... This morning I asked P'Jane (my personal manager) to book for my appointment with my doctor...

This Coeliac Disease was going be the death of me, I thought about it and sighed... Loose stools and painful tummy were bothering me since last night , maybe I ate something wrong at yesterday's event... I can't always choose what I want to eat when I am being the one to advertise the food from that hotel...

P'Jane dropped me at entrance and went ahead to park the car.. I entered the hospital with heavy steps, I knew P'Pum will give me handful of scolding as we are more like friends than doctor and patient since she has been my physician for 5 years now..

When after passing the procedures for registration , I was waiting outside P'Pum's room.. I texted P'Jane about my whereabouts and sitting silently at one of the benches...
A moment passed and my name was called by a petite nurse with a smile..

I went in and waied "Sawattee ,P'Pum.. "
P'Pum : "Sawat-tee ,Sing , What brought you here today??"
Me : Same problem P' , some loose stools and pain...
....
Normal counselling between doctor-patient happened
I answered everything she asked..

....
P'Pum : "Sing, U seemed to have a busy and stressful schedule recently ,right?
And I understand u can't always pay attention to your diet... But everytime ,ur problem depends on your diet.. At this point, it is sensible for me to offer u a counseling session with a dietitian , She can help you to manange ur diet in better way and prevent further flare up episodes..."

Me : "Yes, I am being really busy recently both with studying and job..
I will follow ur advice if u think I needed that.."

P'Pum : "Umm.. okay.. Then I will try to make an appointment for u to meet her in a while. , since u are a busy person it will be more convenient for u if u can see her now.. Her name is Katherine, she is really good at what she is doing... You can trust me on this.. Can you still spare some more time today??"

"Yes.. P' , my work for today was done already.."
After she got my agreement , she made some calls for my appointment with that food-specialist..
Finally, she could manage to arrange an appointment. , I thanked her and left her room...

She even called the familiar petite nurse again and asked her to lead me to my appointment place...
The little nurse wore a sweet smile and was leading me through some floors , we also took some turns before reaching to our destination...

The nurse : "Here.. Please wait for a while , Khun Singto.."
After being hesitated for a while and she politely asked to take a selfie with me..
I agreed and post for the photo with a smile...
...
Then my name was called and I went into that food-specialist's room..
I saw her name board in front of the room..

"Katherine Chen "
Dietician

Just that.. , nothing more like Degree or university name...
I liked that simplicity..

I opend the door and saw Katherine for the first time...
She greeted me with a smile
" Sawat-tee., P'Sing... Umm.. P'Singto.. Nice to see you.., please take a seat... P'Pum already called me and briefed me about your condition.., but I still need to ask a few more questions... Is that be okay for you??"

I dumbfounded for a while and waied back "Sawat-tee , Khun Katherine, Nice to see you too.., Of course I will answer your questions... "

Katherine : " oh ! It is okay to Call me just 'Kath'.. "
