"Again."Laura groaned in frustration before getting off the ground and raising her fists.
"Move your feet."
With a grunt she shifted her feet into different positions.
"Your stance still needs work but we will work on it later, now attack me."
Laura rushed towards Y/N throwing a right hook but stumbled forward as Y/N sidestepped and slapped her hand downward. Steadying herself Laura quickly followed her hook with a left uppercut to which Y/N took a step backward watching the gauntleted fist fly past his chest before shooting his arm out in a flat palm colliding with Laura's stomach and sending her flying.
"You have gotten faster. Y/N commented. "You have also learned to keep your stance and your guard up. You have made some major improvements Laura."
"It sure doesn't feel like it." She gasped. Sweat and dirt stained the tank top and jeans she wore while her hair sat in a tied mess. After catching her breath Laura stood up from the ground doing her best to brush the dirt from her pants and taking up her stance with a grimace. "Isn't it better to wait for me to develop my Aura first then train?"
"From what Isaiah told me and what I gathered Aura develops naturally and slowly due to intense training or physical exertion." Y/N responded.
"Yeah but couldn't we get someone to unlock it?"
Y/N shook his head. "Unlocking one's Aura is faster yes, but it also disadvantages the user by making any further progress slower and more tedious. It is far better to unlock one's Aura naturally as the benefits develop along with your fighting abilities."
Laura groaned muttering about how sore she was going to be the next morning.
Looking up Y/N could see the sun already start to set so he signaled her to stop. "That is enough training for today for now we must eat."
Y/N heard Laura sigh in relief and shot her a disapproving look. "Perhaps we should conti-"
"No!" Laura yelped. "I'll uh... go set up the pots!" Before quickly scampering off into the woods.
With a grunt Y/N followed her into the underbrush quickly finding their camp consisting of two logs for seats, a campfire, a tent, and Laura with her pack. Laura barely acknowledged Y/N as she dug through her pack bringing out a Dutch Oven along with a cooking tripod.
Y/N watched her for a second longer before turning towards the deeper part of the forest. "I will gather firewood stay here."
"I know." She exasperated. "I'm not a kid ya know."
"Perhaps not, but you still fight like one it wouldn't take much for a Grimm to kill you."
Y/N strode forward ignoring the grumbling he heard behind him.
The forest itself was nothing special it was similar to the dozens of other woodland areas around Vale. Tall pines reached skyward their shadows darkening the ground around them making walking through these area's a nerve-racking and a treacherous experience. Thankfully due to the implantation of the Occulobe organ Y/N was able to see in the dark as if it were day. Venturing forward Y/N broke off branches and added them to an ever growing collection he held in his arms. The forest was strangely quiet and each of his footsteps let out a "THUD" as they landed on the dirt under them. Stopping his movement Y/N listened for any sound, any breaking of branches, any quiet footfalls, any breathing. His auto sensors flashed as they picked up a being behind him. Dropping the wood in his arms Y/N spun around to meet the Grimm who stalked him. With a screech the figure darted in between the trees Y/N able to quickly make out it's appearance due to his enhanced vision. It leapt forward, long bone white claws extended outward toward Y/N armored chest. In an instant Y/N had his hand around it's throat holding it upward to better study the creature. It was a short Grimm only five feet tall with a humanoid appearance. It's body lacked the bone armor most Grimm had save for its head which contained it only around the eyes in a sort of mask. The only remarkable trait from the beasts were it's claws; each claw was about a foot in length with each hand containing a set. Seeing how fast it was Y/N presumed it used it's size and speed to sneak up and disembowel it's victims. Storing this information into his brain Y/N was thankful for the psychotherapy and other attributes that gave him a perfect memory along with a sharper mind. All the while the Grimm before him struggled it's razor sharp claws trying to tear into his armor to free itself from his grasp. It was in vain however as for however sharp it's claws were it could not even scratch Y/N's Artificer Armor. With the squeezing of his hand into a fist the Grimm stilled it's movements a "CRUNCH" indicating it's fate.
