Note: there will be an attempted suicide with the main character (me)

(my point-of-view)

Well, this is where my life is right now: living in a homeless shelter apartment in Perth, while I'm standing on a chair in the middle of my room with a rope wrapped around my neck, ready to commit suicide for the 3rd time. The last two times I ended up in hospital. Let me introduce myself. My name is Jesse and I had a traumatic life. I never really had a father. I had a mother but she was the meanest bitch you ever saw. The only nice thing she did for me is she bought me a car when I turned 18, that was 6 years ago. I loved that car until the incident. Let me tell you.

[FLASHBACK]
(8th April 2021, current age: 21)

I just turned 21 and I decided to take my friends out for a few drinks, luckily I was the designated driver, so yeah I didn't even drink, besides water. On my way bak to the shelter, the car started to sound a bit wierd, but I thought it was the tires, even though I just had them changed. I drove throught the lights outside Perth Train Station, and the car stopped right in the middle of the road. "Come on, turn on baby, don't fail me now." I said while I kept turning the key on the ignition. After a couple of minutes, I started to smell smoke and I started to leave the car. As soon as I left, the car engine caught on fire and exploded. Luckily there was a police car right behind me and saw the incident. I screamed and went down to my knees, crying, while the officers came up to me and comforted me until the fire truck came and extinguished the flames.

"Thanks for comforting me, officers." I said. "No problem, where were you heading?" One of the officers asked. "I was heading to the homeless shelter, where I am currently living. But I guess I have to walk." I said. "Its ok. Well drive you there." The other officer said. "Really, Thanks officers." I said. I shook their hand and the fire-fighter came up to us.

FF: Are you the driver.
M: Yes I am. I had that car since I was 18 years old. It was a present from my mum.
FF: That is a sweet present. I wish my mum got me that. Now, we did extinguish the flames but unfortunately, there was nothing we can do to save it.
M: Thats alright. You are there to do your job and putting out flames is a good one.
FF: Thanks, that means a lot to us. Do you have a place to live?
Officer 1: Yes he does. He lives at the homeless shelter just up the road from here. We gonna take him there.
FF: Oh i'm sorry. I didnt know you were homeless. How long have you been living in the streets for?
M: I have been living here for the past 4 years. Before that, I was living in my car for 2 years.
FF: Wow thats a shame. Anyways, I hope you have a good life and a good future.
M: Thanks I will.
I shook the fire-fighters hand and  he walked away.

We walked over to the Police car and we drove to the Shelter. I walked out of the car and said goodbye to the officers, they honked the cars horn and drove away. I walked in where I saw the receptionist. "What happened. I heard a huge explosion." She said. "Its alright. My car blown up." I said. I walked away from the receptionist and I walked to my room. I opened the door, walked inside, closed the door and I went to sleep.

[END OF FLASHBACK]
(4th May 2024 Current age: 24)

I am now breathing, with the rope on my neck, ready to knock the chair over and finally end my life. "5...4...3...2..." I said. As soon as I was about to say "one", the nurse came in and was in shock. "Holy shit, Jesse. Are you about to commit suicide?" Nurse Martin said. "Yes I am. I have decided to end my life. I have nothing to live for. I never even had a good childhood." I said with tears coming down my eyes. "Ok, why don't we just take down the rope, get down from the chair, sit down on the bed and lets talk about it." Nurse Martin said. I took down the rope, hopped off the chair, sat down on my bed and talked to Nurse Martin.

We talked for just over an hour. "And that's why I have decided to end my life." I said. "Wow, that's really sad. So your mother never really loved you. You never really had a childhood. I think I can help you with that. There's a community in Armadale that will treat you the way you want to be. It's called ABC, "Adult Baby Community/ Armadale Beloved Community", they go with the first title. They can help you." She said. "Okay, this sound good. Where do I sign up?" I asked. "Here let me show you." Nurse Martin opened up the laptop (2024 Macbook Max) and went on to the website and went down to the Application Screen. She then typed in the details and click the Apply button. "This would take a few minutes" She said.

We waited for a couple of minutes until an e-mail popped up.

After reading that letter, I hugged Nurse Martin and thanked her. "You are welcome, Jesse. I hope you will have a good time." She said. "Oh I will. I think I will leave tomorrow." I said. After that, Nurse Martin walked up to the front door and if I wanted some dinner. "I'll have my usual, please."I said. "Coming up." She said. She walked out and came back with my usual (burger, chips and a large drink). I had my dinner and I went to bed. "I can't believe it. I will finally have a second chance in life." I said before I drifted off to sleep.
