I lay in one of the bunk beds they have in the safe house main room, just staring at the roof of it. Over the past two days Rowan's been telling me that Bear wants to see me but I don't have the strength. Rowan tells me that ever since I walked out of the room that night she started glowing at random times and trying to escape, it's been happening more and more since I've been gone. But all I can do is stare at the roof of the bunk bed and think about how if I only made her jump on our escape day, none of this would have had to happen. I'm broken from my thoughts when I hear Bears screams again as she crashes into things. I can almost make something out about her needing to kill me. Rowan rushes out of the room and Garret, who was standing by tries to go in.
"No," he says putting his hand on Garrets chest, "you've already tried calming her down, it doesn't work." He says. I see him look over at me so I look away. He walks over to my bunk.
"Kiara, we need your help, I know it's hard seeing her like this but she needs you." He says.
"She needs me dead." I say. Rowan doesn't move from beside my bed. I sigh and get up.

I walk into the room and as soon as I do Bear tries to jump on me. I push her down and her eyes are glowing. Rowan closes the door to give me and Bear some privacy.
"Bear, please stop," I starts to say with the tears escaping against my will, "please stop doing this to me, no one will hurt you if you disobey the order. It's safe here." I say. Her screaming and thrashing comes to a stop and she takes some breaths. He eyes start to flicker back to brown. I sigh and get up to leave once she's back to normal.
"No, no, no, no, no, don't leave me please. It gets worse when you leave. Please, please don't leave." She begs me. I bite my lip and sit down against a wall. She rolls over to me and props herself up next to me. She leans against me and I feel warm and sad. "I haven't been able to sleep, I'm not only talking about in here but the day you left. The academy people saw how tired I was and had to give me orders to sleep each night to make me." She says. Her eyes start to flicker blue, "you left me... you always beat me at gym and you were, no you didn't leave me, yes you did you left because you're the enemy." She starts hyperventilating and squeezes her eyes shut. I pull her into my lap and her breathing slows a bit.
"I never wanted to leave you. I came back for you as soon as I could." I say holding her. She calms down and leans against me, falling asleep on her own. And for the first time in a while I can fall asleep too.

I wake up with Bear snuggled in my arms, she's still tied up but it doesn't stop her from cuddling.
"Bear." I say. Her eyes flutter open and she looks at me, "I'm going to go now." I say. He expression changes to a frown.
"Please Kiara." She begs.
"This is wrong Bear, this isn't fair to Garret." I say. She looks down and sighs. I slowly move her to the bed and walk out of the room. Garret rushes in as soon as I leave, like he was waiting all night.

For the first time in forever I see Bear walk out of the room as Garret holds her hand. She seems anxious and I'm also a little confused as to why she's not tied up. Seems like the rest of the room is also provoked by this.
"Take that traitor back to her room!" One man yells. The rest follow and yell at her but when Rowan walks out everyone goes silent. He glares at everyone with his glowing eyes then also helps lead Bear to the provisions table to get her own food. I face away and stare at a wall.

A little bit later I feel a weight next to me on the bed.
"Hey." Bears fragile voice calls, "I'm feeling a little unsure right now but Garret won't tie me up if I ask him too. Can you help?" She asks. Her voice seems hopeful yet cautious.
"Come with me." I tell her. I walk towards the exit but not before getting Rowans nod of approval. Bear follows quickly behind.

I lead Bear to a huge tree then I sit down against it. If you focus you can still sort of see the safe house in the distance but it's to far away to make out any detail.
"I like going to the woods to think. It's more peaceful than I thought it would be." I say. Bear sits down next to me. She is gripping a stick she found quiet tight. "I won't let them hurt you." I say. Bear looks at me and realizes I noticed her little stick, "you no longer have to listen to them, you are safe here." I place my hand on her arm and she lowers the stick.
"I just don't want to hurt anyone else." She leans against me. As much as I want to hold her I can't, she has Garret.

"Alright, the Agents are powerful and have more training but if we can get the northern resistance to join forces with us then we could destroy both academy's." Rowan says sitting with a bunch of other resistance members in a make shift map room.
"They aren't going to want to join, now that the Agents know we exist they wouldn't want to risk knowledge of them existing too." Garret says. Bear grabs my hand quickly without warning.
"You okay?" I whisper. She squints her eyes shut and shakes her head. I pull her to a corner at the back of the room and we sit down. Garret notices well everyone else is arguing and walks over.
"Move it!" He kicks me in the gut and I groan.
"Garret!" Bear yells standing up. Her eyes are starting to flicker.
"Just calm down babe." He says getting angry. Bears hands ball up into fists.
"Bear, calm down it's okay." I reach out for her but Garret kicks me again. Bear punches Garret and he falls down, her eyes now are fully blue. Everyone in the room turns to me as I wrap my arms around form behind her and try to stop her from thrashing. Garret stands up to punch me when Rowan interrupts.
"Garret we have already determined you cannot help Bear. Now get out, you are no longer welcomed in the map room until further notice." He announces. Garret groans and slams the door as he leaves. Once he's gone Bears eyes start to flicker again and she takes some breaths. She pulls me into a tight hug and doesn't let go.
"Why don't you and her take spare room seven." Rowan tells me. I nod and help her to the room.

We get in the room and it's small with one big bed. I roll my eyes and lay her down. She grips the sheets and starts hyperventilating. I lay next to her and she grips onto me. I feel fluttering in my stomach and heat across my face. Bear calms down and grips onto me. I turn to her and try to examine her face. She still is squeezing her eyes shut but she doesn't seemed as freaked out. I think she realizes I'm looking at her because her eyes flutter open. She stares at me for a second before rubbing some dirt of my face with her thumb. She rests her hand on my cheek and I close my eyes, feeling the warmth and just giving in. I feel her breath against my face and let the darkness of the room relax me.
"I'm sorry." She whispers. I open my eyes to see Bear still looking at me. I want this so badly, I want her so badly. Slowly we both move forward until Bear finally closes the gap. Her lips are soft and she smells so sweet. The kiss progresses and I place my hand on Bears hip, her breath hitches but she allows me to advance. I've never felt this urge before, I want to explore her body and kiss her and heal everything that's hurt. Bear moves over me and pulls away for air. I'm left staring at her beautiful face and golden brown eyes. She leans in but I remember why I didn't want to. I put my hand on her chest to stop her.
"What-"
"Garret." I interrupt weakly.
"I don't care about him Kiara, he's a jerk." She says. I want to give in so bad but I'm not sure. Bear sighs. "If you're not ready then we don't have to." She says. I nod a little and she plants a small kiss on my forehead before rolling back to my side.
"I only want you." She whispers. This time she possessively pull me into her arm. I let out a small whimper of surprise. She is pressed up against the back of me with on arm on my waist and the other up above her head. He legs are wrapped around me as if to prevent me from leaving. I feel safe, I can't explain it but I feel safe. I understand why bear likes it so much, I just want to stay here and let her protect me.

Later in the night I wake up to Bear squeezing me a little to tight. I try to turn to her but her grip only get stronger.
"Bear... it's okay!" I say in a strained voice. She lets herself loosen up for a second. I take the chance to turn to her. "I'm here, it's okay." I shush her and wrap my arms around her too.
"You left, then you came back knocking our guards on the way to come and kidnap me. Then I go to find you, then you kidnap me." She says while starting to breath heavier, "it's not real!" She says quiet loudly to herself.
"Bear I will always come back for you, I would never let them torture you there any longer than I had to." I explain.
"Make it stop!" She whines. I move myself up in the bed so that we are face to face. I plant a kiss on her cheek and hug her.
"I not leaving ever again." I promise her. She starts to relax. After she's calmed down she turns me around and wraps herself around me again.
"Bear!" I whisper, laughing.
"Mine." Bear chuckles. I sigh and give in again. Hopefully things will get better soon.
