Tonight (I wish you did your homework)

Juicika's POV

NO, Rome!

"I TOLD YOU IT'LL BE A HE!"
I yelled, doing my victory dance.

Rome and Ragina laughed.

"Wow you're enthusiastic this morning."
George said confused.

"Do you play any instruments?"
He asked.

"Nope, but I can sing a mean cover of Yankee Doodle. Do you want me to show you?"
I said confidently.

"No."
He said, scratching his head.

I slumped back down into my chair, I just wanted to show the snaccy new teacher my skills.

He was really good looking, not as good looking as Ratty though.

Music is always a really fun class. It usually consists of Ragina showing off her amazing bass and drumming skills. Rome sang indie songs into microphones that would squeal if they were moved the wrong way.

Then there was me, I'm not the most talented but I sit in the corner with a keyboard covered in scratch and sniff stickers I accumulated over the past few months. I didn't know how to play it.

"Alright, that's time. See you tomorrow."
George said.

Rome, Ragina and I walked out of class and sat at the crusty tables in-front of the cafeteria. I was easily able to see Ratty in all of his greasy glory.

"So, what happened at the party after I left?"
Ragina asked curiously.

"Well, Gertrude had too much to drink and she kept falling over but Chris was..."
Rome explained as Ragina interrupted.

"I was kinda wanting to hear from Juicika. I saw she had a moment with Ratty Matty before SOMEONE interrupted."
She said, making direct eye contact with Rome.

FLASHBACK TO THE PARTY

Mr MacDonald left soon after Ragina. You could tell he was embarrassed.

"Why is he dressed like a penguin. What does that even mean?"
Ratty asked.

"It means he fucking liked penguins."
Rome snapped as he rolled his eyes.

Rome walked away.

"So Jucika. Remember that moment we had earlier tonight?"
Ratty asked as he held my hand.
"Do you, maybe want to continue it?"

"Yeaaaah"
I said.

He led me to the same spot we had our first encounter.

"Ah, where were we?"
He asked as he grabbed both of my hands.

"Well you were just...."
I said as he leant in.

He rubbed his nose against mine, kissing me on the cheek.
He moved across my face, ready to find my lips and touch them with his.

"Finally!"
I thought.

"JUCIKA!"
Rome yelled.

Ratty pulled away just as his lips were about to touch mine.

"UGH!"
He said as he put his head on my shoulder.

"What is it now Rome?"
I asked as Ratty sat up.

"YOU DID WHAT!"
Ragina yelled.
"What was our deal Rome?"
She asked,

"That we would both leave Jucika and Ratty Matty alone."
Rome replied as he looked down in shame.

"And what did you do?"
She asked.

"Interrupted them."
He said.

"TWICE!"
I hissed.

"I'm sorry, it was an emergency."
He explained.

"No it was not Rome! In fact it wasn't even close to being an emergency."
I said, standing my ground.

"Why did you do it Rome?"
Ragina asked.

"I just wanted to let her know that my mum put more chips and juice boxes out."
He explained, twiddling his thumbs.

"POPPERS!"
I yelled.

I was livid. Ratty and I were about to have our first kiss. TWICE!

There was an awkward silence. Until I felt the presence of someone standing right behind me, putting their hands on my shoulders.

"Hey."
Ratty said as he sat next to me.

"Hiiiii"
I said as I made eye contact with him.

"Oh hi, Matty."
Rome said.

He didn't get a reply. Ratty just glared at him.

"So Jucika, do you want to go out for dinner sometime?"
He asked as he held my hand under the table.

"Sure"
I answered as I squeezed his hand.

"Cool, I'll pick you up at 7."
He said as he let go of my hand and slowly stood up.

"Cool."
I replied as I watched him leave.

"Bye MATTY"
Rome said.

I didn't get an answer that time either.

"OHHH MY GOOOOOD"
I whispered as I quietly celebrated.

I looked up to see a shocked expression on Ragina's face.

"Oh my god. It's finally happening!"
Ragina said smiling.

"I can't believe he just glared at me."
Rome said in a disappointed tone as he looked at his hands.

Tonight at 7. I get to see Ratty. In the mean time. I still have a whole day of school ahead of me.
