I woke the next morning with a throbbing headache and stomach pains. Great. I pulled myself from the bed and into the bathroom, looking at how atrocious my hair looked. Not only did I feel like shit, I looked it too. Lexi was still asleep when I came out of the bathroom. I need to find some pain killers. I softly held my tummy as I rummaged around her room looking for sort of pain killer to depress the pain I was feeling, to my discomfort there was nothing.
"Lexi," I spoke, shaking her side gently.
She rolled over and yawned at me, "What do you want?"
"My stomach is killing me and I need some panadol or something strong?"
"Is it sickness?"
"I don't feel sick, I feel like someone is stabbing me in the stomach with a knife. Please help me."
Lexi shot up from the bed and ran outside, I sat down on her bed grasping at my stomach. The pain seemed to be getting worse and worse by the second. A few moments passed and Lexi rushed back in with a glass of water and 2 panamax's.
"Thank you so much," I blurted staggeredly. I swallowed both pills and try to lay down but it just made the pain come back.
"This isn't normal pain Lex, I think I need to go to a doctor." Lexi spun around grabbing her keys and her jacket.
"Let's go."
We headed off down the road in a matter of minutes, my stomach still paining. What is happening? The pain was getting so bad I was on the brink of tears. Luckily we made it to the hospital before that happened. Lexi and I left the car in the parking area, rushing into the emergency area. I took a seat as Lexi went to the counter telling them it was urgent and that I was in a lot of pain. She talks quite loud. Within a moment a doctor was out standing before me. He leant down and asked me a few questions.
"Whats your pain on a scale of 1-10?"
"8"
"Where does it hurt in particular?"
"Around the bottom of my stomach."
"I'm going to gently press onto your lower abdomen, tell me if the pain increases."
I felt as the doctor gently pushed on the stomach, even though his touch was so soft the pain just radiated from it. The stabbing pain worsened with his touch.
"Yes, yes, yes! Please stop it hurts." I held my stomach softly as the doctor stood up.
"I think you may have appendicitis, that would explain the immense amount of pain that you're in, especially to the fact its positioned mainly to the right of your body. We'll get you a scan to make sure that's what you have and we will go from there. For the mean time we will put you on a morphine drip to help subsidise the pain and make you feel a little less uncomfortable."
I nodded and gently got up, leaning on Lexi as we walked through the white doors. I sat on one of the beds and laid down. The pain had increased dramatically from walking. A nurse came in next, she put the morphine drip in and from there the pain subsided dramatically, it was amazing. I felt off my face, but it was amazing. I told Lexi to go and let Harry know what had happened.
"He's on his way."
A few hours had passed as I was woken by the doctors, I had had my scans and the results had come in. Apparently I had fallen asleep on the scanning table due to the morphine in my system. Harry stood at the door behind the doctor.
"I was correct in your diagnosis. And you're quite glad you came in, your appendix hasn't bursted which is very good, but due to the amout of pain it is putting you in we are going to perform surgery anyways. Get comfortable and we'll let you know all the precautions to take before."

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. That's the only sound I could hear. Beep. I sleepily opened my eyes, rubbing them with fisted hands. I turned to my right to find an asleep Harry. He had his head resting up against the back of the chair and his legs over the arm rest, he looked so peaceful. I looked at the clock, it was 7:12pm. I had been asleep all day. Lexi was nowhere to be seen, I closed my eyes for a moment before opening them back up. I watched Harry peacefully sleep for a few moments, before he awoke. He sprung from his chair, kneeling next to me and holding my hand.
"Hey, you're awake." He spoke, kissing the back of my hand. I cupped his face with one of my hands, bringing his face towards mine. I met his lips gently, before resting my forehead upon his.
"How long have you been here for?"
"Since yesterday morning. I told them I wasn't going anywhere."
I looked at Harry, his beautiful green eyes so sleepy yet so awake.
"You should go home and get some rest, you look sleep deprived."
"I didn't sleep last night because my beautiful girlfriend wasn't there. So today was the only time I've slept in 2 days."
"I'm sorry I snuck out on you, I didn't mean to worry you or anything like that. I just needed to see Lexi and I.. I didn't think you would let me."
"No, no, no, it's nothing like that. I'm sorry for making you feel that way. That you need my permission, I'm just that kind of person. I'm protective."
His beautiful green eyes stared back at me as his thumb gently caressed over my knuckles.
"It's okay." I smiled.
"You're allowed to come home tomorrow. So I'm not leaving until then."
I smiled once again at the beautiful boy knelt before me, I know we've had our ups and downs and this past week especially. But no one person is perfect.
"Come here." I gesture to the bed, patting it softly. Harry got up from the chair, walking around the bed. I feel the mattress dip a little as he sinks into it, his arms slowly wrap around me. I snuggle back into his chest, feeling his warmth radiate onto me.
