(3rd person)

Reyna was an early riser. She had been since she was a little kid, Hylla used to say that she was the morning doves alarm clock.

But right now, getting up was far from her mind.

It had been a rough day at Camp. A fight broke out between a Mars kid and a Mercury boy, which she had to deal with. Getting punched on accident by a wild swing from one of them. One of the campers, who remains unknown decided to light one of the training supply sheds on fire. That was her favorite part of the day.

Then when she was sorting through the remains of the shed, she idiotically knelt down onto a nail. Sending an awful pain in her leg. Nothing ambrosia couldn't fix but it hurt. She had so much work to do.

But here, at 6:11 in the morning, she didn't want to move. Maybe it was the strong arms that held her so gently that made her stay. Or the soothing, mindless circles being rubbed into her back.

No, maybe it was the fact that she was in her home in New Rome. The familiar creaks of the house. The loud exhale from the dogs sleeping at the foot of the bed. The smell of pine needles that Reyna always teased Thalia about.

She remembered days when she didn't have a home. Still trying to find safety from monsters before she came to camp. She never knew anything except for camp cabins or tents. She didn't know how much love you could feel when you shared that home either.

--------------------------------------FLASHBACKS CHILDREN____________________________________
(2 years ago)
The war had ended over 4 years ago. Reyna was just turning 21 and Thalia having dropped out of the hunters after Jason's death, was 22.

They also had been dating for 3 years. They'd had ups and downs, happy moments and not so happy ones.

But they always stuck together.

But they also didn't have a home.

Neither of them really did. Always going from camp to camp, or friends house to friends house.

They hadn't had a set home since they were young children, before bad parenting and monsters found them.

So when they were in bed one morning in Percy's guest room, Reyna on Thalia's chest barely awake she asked.

"Rey would you wanna... I dunno get like a house together? Like our own place?" Thalia asked hesitantly.

"Hm?" Reyna asked still very asleep. Starting to slowly get up.

"Rey we both grew up on the run. I haven't had a home since I was maybe 4 and I just... I feel safe with you. I wanna get a house with you that we can call ours not because I need some fancy building, just our place Rey." Thalia said staring at the ceiling rubbing circles on Reyna's back.

Reyna sat up looking her in the eye. She'd wanted this since her dad lost it. Since she came to camp Jupiter.

Not to be swept away but some man like her dad wanted. But to one day to be so safe and secure with someone that she could sleep without nightmares or if the nightmares came someone that could comfort her so easily that she still felt safe.

"Do you really want that with me?" Reyna asked quietly staring into those blue eyes she fell in love with years ago.

"Your my home Rey I just wanna be with you" Thalia said softly with a smile.

"Ok then, we're gonna get house" Reyna declared

"Were gonna get a house" Thalia repeated running a light hand though her long hair that had been tightly braided earlier.

"I can't wait to wake up to your ruffles everyday" Reyna grinned

Well they'd had their small home for a little under 2 years now and Reyna was still running a hand through the ruffled hair she loved to play with so much.
