Sorry, yes, it is a bit short. But the chapters will get longer as it goes on... I think.
Hope you enjoy! xx
Chapter 1:
Moving In
"Zeke! Dinners almost ready!"
"Okay Mom! I'll be down in a minute!"
I was currently unpacking all the boxes in my room. The same thing I had been doing all afternoon, and quite frankly, I was sick of it. Right now I was taking out all my trophies from Taekwondo tournaments, and all the different colored belts I had acquired over the years.
My little sister, Estella, came running into my room. Her face was flushed and she was all out of breath. No doubt she was dancing to her Taylor Swift CD in her room. Although she didn't look it, and her room didn't look it, Stella was actually a Taekwondo student herself. She was actually the best in her class. Probably because I train with her everyday.
Stella saw I was holding one of my trophies and, with a sparkle in her eye, took up the kyorugi joombi stance- or, for those who don't know what that is, the fighting stance. Playing along with her, I put down my trophy and took up the same stance and said, "Junbi, shijak!" which means 'ready, begin.'
As soon as the words left my mouth, Stella broke her stance and flung herself at me. She tackled me to my bed and began tickling me. Moving quickly, I flipped her, and myself, over and started tickling her back. She began to laugh, and struggling to get out of my grip she choked out the words "Gallyeo! Gallyeo!" for a break.
I finally quit and she collapsed on my bed, all tired out. I lay down with her. After a while I said, “Dinner should be ready. Let’s go eat.”
"Okay!" she said enthusiastically and ran downstairs. I followed her out but not as quickly.
When I arrived in the dining room mom told me that my new schedule for my new school is on the counter in the kitchen. Then my dad walked in and Mom asked "How was your day hon?" which all reminded me why I was in a bad mood this morning and why I was unpacking boxes.
Okay so I'm Ezekial Kale, or also known as Zeke by my family and friends- who I can no longer see. Well, except for on video chat. You see we- my family and I- used to live in Korea, but my dad is in the army so we have to move around- a lot. And last month my dad got restationed and we had to move- again. So here we are now, living in Great Falls, Montana.
I hated it.
A lot.
And we've only been here for two days.
But since I can't do anything about it, I just have to suck it up and live with it. So tomorrow I am going to my first day of school at Great Falls Prep. Yippee for me. (Please take note of the major sarcasm there.) Reluctantly, I walked to the kitchen to look at my schedule. What I saw at first was pretty normal, but then at the bottom of the list was something I definitely did not expect.
Here’s the list.
Latin Rm. C 12 Mr. Richards
World Studies Rm. A 21 Mrs. Brown
English 9 Rm. A. 23 Mr. oak
Science Rm A 19 Mr. Trolston
Algebra Rm. A 25 Mr. Costello
2 D Design Rm. D 21 Mr. Walters
Fighting 101 Gymnasium Master Wong
WTH? Fighting 101? What’s with that? Weird right? Yeah, definitely weird.
You know, looking back on this, it feels so childish. Like my whole writing style. I wrote this a couple years ago actually- which is a very sad fact considering I'm still in the process of writing it... So I've matured in my writing technique now. And it just seems so... bad. I love the story and everything, but i feel like I should just... fix it somehow.
I know this seems really boring right now, and slow. but it picks up in the next couple chapters. So please stick with me!
What do you think? give a comment. Please. Maybe a vote if you liked it. :)
