CHAPTER 3
Minutiae [mi-yoo-she-aye]: the small precise details that make one unique
Egypt. I could feel myself sweating from behind my neck.
"It's really hot in here"
"Well, we're in a dessert so it is supposed to be hot" He whispers, causing a shiver run through my spine.
"What is so special about Egypt?"
"Egypt has a long history, it's one of the oldest countries of the world. The pyramids here are centuries old; everything here has a history behind it"
"That sounds nice. Pyramids are in the cone shape, right?" I ask him, wiping some sweat off my forehead.
"Yeah, they're like ice cream cones but larger and upside down" He explains, making me nod at him.
"What color is the sun? Is it blue too?" I rest my head on his chest, as he strokes my hair softly with his fingers.
"The sun is warm, cheerful, and hot. It warms up the cold in you, you feel the sun in summer" He says, running his fingers through my hair softly.
"So the sun is yellow?"
"Yeah, it brightens up the entire world. It's bright and it cheers you up. It's like fire, it's sweaty but in a good way. It stares at the land intensely, admiring the flowers growing- knowing that the sun is the reason. It melts the ice cubes, makes it turn into the water"
"Are you trying to tell me that the sun is the reason why my ice cream melted really fast?" I pout at him, hearing him chuckle amusedly.
"Yeah, or maybe it was because you started talking about flowers and completely ignored the ice cream so it felt heartbroken and melted in tears"
"You're making me feel bad" I mutter, hearing him laugh at me.
"I'm sorry, darling. We'll get ice cream later, yeah?" His tone filled with playfulness, making it hard for me to not smile.
"Okay" He kisses my cheek softly, making the butterflies in my stomach start flying around cheerfully.
