CHAPTER 10

Irenic [adjective]: promoting peace

Canada. I shiver, as the cold wind hits my face. I huff and sit on the ground, gasping as I suddenly realise that the ground is equally cold, I stand up immediately, groaning as I realise that the snow made my pants wet.

Okay, that sounds wrong.

I feel Adrian pull me closer to him, sighing in relief as I feel his hot breath against my skin.

"It's so cold" I murmur, hearing his chuckle.

"It is"

"The strong light is reflecting my eyes," I say, shielding my eyes.

"Here, put this on" He puts a cap on my head, so the light isn't too strong for my eyes.

"I hate how some people say that blind people can't see light, or dark; because actually, we can differentiate between light and dark, we can see shapes and we can also see glitter too and sometimes, we can see swirls of colours too, but usually, I can't differentiate them," I huff, hearing him chuckle beside me.

"I know"

"How do people survive here?" I say, referring to the cold temperature.

"They just do," He says to me, pressing a small kiss to my cheeks.

"Isn't snow, white in colour?"

"Yeah, white colour is very plain, it is simply simple"

"Isn't white the opposite of black?" I ask him, confusion filled in my tone.

"White is the opposite of black, but white and black are like partners- as in they are polar opposites but they work well together. To me, white is a colour of peace, it's just very simple, shy and a quiet colour" He explains, making me nod my head at him.

"White seems to be very chill"

"It is, my love"

Aurora got blind when she was a toddler. So she doesn't know how to differentiate colours, BUT- she can differentiate between night and the day. I've researched about this, and yes, there are blind people who can sometimes see sparks, shadows and when blind people see glitter- it reflects in the sun so yes, they can see shining glitter too. Most of them don't really see 'black'.
