Why Are You Fighting?

I'm waiting for my mama in front of the school gate. She's not picking me up until late afternoon. I open my bag to check it. Do I have my cellphone in my bag? No, I don't. Ah, seriously. I'm trying to find a way, luckily, there's a place to make a call on the road side. I recheck my back. Do I have any coin in my bag? No, I don't. Seriously. I have to walk for miles.

I don't even know whether it's a dream or not. Perhaps there's a handsome man, offering me a ride. I've been waiting for the man to come to me. But, he never comes. These legs were tired of walking down the road in this polluted environment until I'm startled by a handsome guy, he has longish hair, a bit of moustache and tanned complexion. He drives a vespa.

"Need a ride, Min? Seems like it's going to rain this afternoon. If you don't get home fast you will get drenched in rain." He asks me with his thick Javanese accent.

"How do you know me? Who are you? Wow, I just turned up today plus I came late, now everyone knows me already." Under the cloudy sky, I feel proud of myself.

"Haha, don't be overconfident. Martin told me your name. I'm Roy. Do you wanna go home with me or not?" Haa? Martin introduced me to him? There's a secret trick behind this. Perhaps Martin just wants to hook me up with Roy.

"I'm afraid that you'll do weird things to me." I reply nonchalantly.

"I don't do weird things towards girls. Trust me. Come on. It's drizzling."

"Alright. I'm going home with you. Thanks for the offer." I have to, I have to and I have to.

For now, going home with Roy is not that bad. Handsome guy like Roy definitely never get rejected for a ride. I feel compelled since it's our first meeting. But on the other side, I feel delighted. Everything is fun. Martin is nice and Roy is nice too. I don't know whether I become Roy's best friend too or we're just friend.

What a good day, I wasn't scolded by the teacher when I came late yesterday. Therefore, I won't be late to school this time. The first person I meet should be Martin. But, I haven't seen him so far. I get into the classroom and wait for him.

Whoa, I've been waiting for Martin for fifteen minutes. He's not showing up. The class will start soon. I have to find Martin. He's not in the cafeteria. He's not in the library. In the school backyard, I have to look for him there. Ah, right. Finally, I find him. But... He's fighting...

"Martin! Don't do it..." I see him from afar. His handsome face is bruised. Plus, the one who makes him injured is Roy...

"I'm sorry Min.." The wounds that cover his face makes it difficult for him to speak. But, he apologizes instead. What on earth is happening between them?

"Martin.." The school bell rings before I finish my sentence. I leave them with puffy eyes. I'm sad watching them fight.

"Go, Mimin needs you." Says Roy.

I get to my class when the lesson starts. I give some explanation to the teacher and end up with a punishment. It would be nice to look at the greenery in such a beautiful morning to get rid of irritating fatigue. No, not the school backyard. They are probably still there. Alright, cafeteria is the last option. Boring. There's nothing I can do. I rest my head on the top of the cafeteria's table and sleep.

"Is sleeping your favorite thing to do? It would be nice if you sleep on my shoulder."

It's such a romantic daydream. I smile for some reasons. Until I realized that it wasn't a dream.

"Roy?" I open my eyes widely and sit up straight. "Where is Martin? Both of you make me stress. Why are you fighting?" I ask the question that comes across my mind. I wear a serious expression on my face.

"Why are you stressed out thinking about us? As if you're the reason behind our fight. Haha.."

"Right. If it wasn't because of me, that's a relief. Don't disturb Martin again! Don't disturb my bestfriend." I cannot ignore my emotion. Who would have thought this would happen in the second day I go to school with a new environment and faces?

"I'm sorry Min, you should not have seen us." Roy turns his face away from me. At that moment, we both see Martin from a distance. He stands in front of the cafeteria's door covered in wounds. Martin must have been in a great pain. This feeling, I should not feel like this. "Martin! Wait, I'll be there." When I'm about to get up and leave, Roy holds my hand and Martin walks away from the two of us.

"What are you doing?"

"Let's skip classes, come with me, Min."
