Fascinating Surprise

Roy takes me to an Orphanage. I have no idea what Roy wants but this is all he can do. I just get to know him today. I'm stunned on a small chair with a smiley emoticon picture on it. This is quite confusing. But, fun.

"I'm sorry I take you here, and didn't even ask for your permission." He says softly.

"Whatever, Roy." I reply coldly, declaring that I'm still upset. Because Roy seems like preventing me to meet Martin, and moreover, Roy hurts him too. I'm restless. I ask Roy to show me the bathroom before he gets the chance to explain. All I can do is crying. I can't even contact Martin. All of my stuffs are in the classroom. I hope they're still there.

"I help Mother taking care of a few kids here, regardless their physiques and personalities. Just taking care of them sincerely. When I'm tired, I would imagine if I'm in their position. Hence the fatigue will fade away and I'm ready to take care of them again. It's my duty. I feel bad for Mother if I do nothing." Roy stands in front of the toilet and let it all out. I listen to his story while crying, my heart softens then I stop crying. I want to open this door so bad. But, there is no way I come out in such embarrassing condition. I just stand there holding the door knob, and do nothing behind the door.

"Have you finished crying? It's okay if you want to cry harder."

"Can you tell me, why are you fighting with Martin? If you're tired helping your Mother working, why are you wasting your energy for fighting?"

"Come out now, let's talk about it somewhere else but the toilet. Haha.." Tsk, his words bring a smile to my face. Walking with him makes my heart pounds like crazy. Plus, he's about to tell me something beyond my imagination. We both sit in front of a room, seems like a room of the orphanage residents. Roy starts the conversation.

"If I have to be honest, it's actually men's business. It's about feelings, actually. But... If you're curious, I like you, Min."

"Haaa?" Oh my goodness, am I still sleeping in the cafeteria or am I completely awake?

"Wait, don't interrupt me. Yeah, I do like you. So I went to your classroom but I couldn't find you this morning. I have no idea that Martin was there, I just put a lollipop on your desk, well, after I asked to some people about your seat and I just left it there." Perhaps, Martin thought that I had a bad intention. He threw the candy away in front of me and dragged me into a fight instantly."

"That's why he apologized. There was a misunderstanding. Why did you act as if you want to keep me away from Martin?"

"I have asked him to see you. But I guess he didn't."

Yeah, our conversation ends right there. I can't believe that Roy likes me. Martin's weird behavior made me turned Roy's feelings aside. All Martin did was avoiding me and he didn't say a word. In fact, I didn't hurt his feelings. Even I wanted to help him when I saw him in the cafeteria. I'm still worrying about Martin, so I ask Roy to take me school to grab my bag then go home. Riding his beloved vespa, of course.

"Hi.. What's your name, dear?" A lady holding a child greets me.

"Mimin, Ma'am." I reply with a big smile looking at the lady. I don't make it home this time. Apparently, I'm stuck between the orphans and a middle aged woman.

"Oh, it's such a pleasure to meet you, Mimin. What can I help you, Mimin?" She says that while putting the child down, he runs to his friends immediately.

"Thank you, Ma'am. Don't bother." Awkward. It's a super awkward situation.

"You know each other? Roy is my son. Since you're already here, you can't go home yet. Mind to help me for a while? There's something to do." That glowing face, I know Roy's Mother is tired. She hides it and smiles at me.

"Alright, because it's supposed to be like that." I answer with a smile on my face and I don't want the smile fades away.

I finally arrived at one of the children in this orphanage, thanks to Roy for showing me the way. When I'm about to sweep the room, someone covers my eyes with both hands. I'm so sure that it's Roy, so I just stay still. But, the voice is not Roy's. Turns out it's the owner of this room. A girl with curly hair and seems like she's 14. The kids here are friendly. I immediately tickles her belly, because I can't just let it go. We tease each other, and I guess she's very happy with my small trick. I had no idea, everyone in this orphanage can be happy in a simple way. It's so beautiful that I forgot that I should clean this room.

I gulp some water from a bottle in the kitchen while looking at the view outside. The night is falling, I was getting ready to go home with endless happiness before someone surprises me. Roy is carrying a little girl, she's crying. Out of sudden, I feel that it's a fortune, a guy like Roy likes me.

Roy sees me sitting in the kitchen, he approaches me. We talked a bit before I ask him to take me home. Riding his vespa, of course. I say goodbye to Roy's Mother. She seems tired but her smile doesn't fade away. On my way home. I meet Martin. Honestly, I forgot about him all day long due to Roy's Mother's orphanage. But Martin turns away when I'm about to greet him, I'm shocked. As if I'm impaled by a transparent knife, invisible but painful. I don't even know what makes him like that. My heart breaks, I feel bad.

"Thanks for today, Roy, are you going to pick up your Mother at the orphanage?" I must give him attention worth what Roy and his family do.

"You're welcome, Mimin. No, I live there, hehe." He answers while turning on his motorcycle.

"Oh, I see.."

"Yup, Bye Min."
