I walk behind Emma at the door. She's trying to be intimidating but she's just not, she's the nicest person you'll meet.
"I'm serious, I want her home my midnight the LATEST and if you hurt her I swear I'll—" David just giggles when I cut her off before she embarrasses herself more.
"Okay thanks dad byeee," I give her a hug and she laughs.
"Have fun, but not too much fun!" she says in her mom voice.
"Yeah yeah," I laugh, rolling my eyes.
"See you!" I close the door in her face.
"She tried," David says.
"Just be glad my dad isn't actually here!" Once again we both laugh because when it's the two of us it seems all we do is smile and laugh. As we pull up to David's house, I notice that all of the windows are dark. We must be the only ones here. My heart flutters more than I'd like to admit at the thought of being alone with David.
I chuckle as David wraps a blindfold around my head.
"You filming this?" I ask.
"No, just wanted to surprise you," he says, and I can hear the grin in his voice. I hope he can't hear the hitch in my breath when he takes my hands and leads me into what I assume is the backyard. We take a few more steps and stop.
"I hope you like it," he whispers in my ear from behind me, giving me chills. He reaches in front of me and takes off the blindfold. We're standing in the backyard in front of the fireplace. Sitting there is a bag that says Olive Garden. We both LOVE Olive Garden and it's so fun when the whole friend group goes. Even when Jason does embarrassing things. The lights on the trees are sparkling and the amazing view is gorgeous. To my right is a beautiful tent with blankets, pillows, fairy lights and a small TV. I'm pretty sure my jaw hit the floor.
"You did all this??" I ask breathlessly.
"Yeah, well I asked Emma for your Olive Garden Order," he giggled.
"Shall we eat?" He gestured to the food. The rest of the night we basically just watched The Notebook and cuddled. We cried a lot and laughed even more. It was honestly the best first date ever. He was my best friend and everything came so easy. We already know each other, and don't have to awkwardly try to find small talk. It just feels right. The movie ended around quarter to 12 and David drove me home.
When we got to the apartment we both just kinda sat in the car for a minute. It was quiet, but it was a comfortable silence.
"Dave, I had the best night." I said finally breaking the silence.
"I'm glad, I did too. Y/n I've wanted to ask you out since we met. Everything is just easy with you." He smiled at me so brightly.
"Are you asking me on a second date or..." I joked.
"Well I was getting there but I guess I can just skip to this," he pressed his lips to mine, kissing me gently yet passionately. All the Romance novels I've read they always talk about Bliss. Now I can truly understand the meaning. For this moment everything was absolutely perfect.Okay I had a little help with this chapter so I think it's a lot better than the others. It's getting good now and there's gotta be a pot twist soon...
