PROLOGUE

Prologue

"Good morning po Doctora Velasquez, yung meeting po will about to start in 30 minutes," Chloe reminded as I entered my office.

"Thank you, I'll just check one of my patients in the ICU then we will proceed to the board room," pagkasagot ko ay pumunta na ako ng ICU to check the patient.

As I was walking, people are greeting me and as a response, I smiled to them.

Pagkarating ko sa ICU, I immediately saw the attending nurse and ask her the vitals of the patient.

"Doc, stable po ang vital signs but still hindi pa po siya nagigising ni minsan,"

"It's fine, as long as stable ang vital signs, there's nothing to worry about. Doc Mariano said that his body is weak when they performed the surgery, and he needs to rest a lot to gain his consciousness,"

"Okay lang po ba kayo Doc?," alanganin na tanong niya.

"Ahm, alam ko po na gusto niyo na siyang kausapin pero sana po pag nagising na siya, pwede po bang pagpahingain muna nang mabuti kasi po, natatakot po ako, baka tuluyan na siyang mawala, please.... Ate," Koreen said.

I just smiled and tapped her back as I called my secretary to inform her na papunta na akong board room.

"Good morning doc," the people in the board room greeted me.

"Good morning too, please, take your seats so we can discuss this matter already."

"Doc, as I have sent to your e-mail, the Montenegro's are planning to invest here in our hospital," Mr. Torres stated.

"And what can we gain from them? I heard they are really large group of companies who are inclined in some other stuff except for hospital matters, right Atty. Sanchez?," and I turned my glaze to Lui, my friend, the head of the Legal Team of our hospital.

"Yes, what you have stated was right Doctora Velasquez but I apologize for not telling you this beforehand, a month ago, they just have started to put up their business in hospital machineries, like ventilators, and I must say that these ventilators are the updated ones and they already gained partnerships with the other hospitals in the country,"

"About how many partnerships?"

"They gained 5 already Doc."

"That fast?," really huh, then I am assuming that their investment here in our hospital is with utmost sincerity.

"Do you think it's beneficial for us, Mr. Rosario?," I asked to our Business Affairs Head.

"Well, Doctora Velasquez, in my point of view, it could be really beneficial for us since some of our equipments are lacking due to our hospital's downfall in the past 3 years. With that, we didn't have the chance to prosper at some point. We're now being lucky that a big hand could help us now," Mr. Rosario stated.

"Well then, I guess we have to vote for that," then I turned my gaze to Chloe saying that she can now proceed with the votation.

"The board already decided to accept the investment of Montenegro Incorporation," then everyone applauded.

"Okay then, meeting adjourned. Thank you so much for your time, Mr. Sanchez, please stay for a bit," agad namang nagpaalam at nagsilabasan ang mga board members habang si Lui ay umupo naman sa tabi ko.

"I forgot to ask something, who is the owner of Montenegro Incorporation again?," my brows furrowed out of curiousity.

Halatang nagpipigil siya ng ngisi nung tinanong ko na sakanya yun.

Actually, kanina ko pa gustong itanong yon kaso nahihiya ako kasi baka isipin ng board na mag-ba-base ako sa kung sino man ang may-ari.

Nakalimutan ko na kasi, sino ba yon, Ivone? Irone? Ivana? Ah! Basta I yata ang unang letter.

"Kanina ko pa hinihintay na tanungin mo yan Georgina."

Kinabahan naman ako pero binalewala ko na lang. Hindi naman puwedeng si, uh, nevermind, basta hindi siya Montenegro, Mendoza 'yon e.

"Sino na nga kasi, ha, Lui?," pilit ko.

"Si Isabelle, George," halos mapunit na ang labi niya sa kakangisi!

"No way," kasabay nito ay ang pag-iling ko nang paulit-ulit.

What the hell....

"Si Isabelle Montenegro," ulit niya.
