Five

I don't want to worry

About politics and war

I don't want to bother

When bills come through the door

I want the important things

To be cartoons and toys

And the most, bestest fun

To be making some noise

I want to look at the clouds

And see dragons and sheep

And dream about flying

When I go to sleep

Not look at the sky

And wonder if it will rain

And go to bed hoping

It won't be a sleepless night

Again

I want to think girls are 'orrible

I want to sleep when I'm tired

I want to want to be a fireman

Not worry if I've been fired

I want to pretend I'm a racing driver

Even though I can't drive

But most of all

I want to be five.
