Mal, Evie, Carlos and I were all doing homework, when Jay came in wearing his jersey,"Yo-ho-ho!" He tosses a jersey to Carlos.
Carlos:"Hey, the coach let me on the team?"
Jay:"Yup, you just have to practice with Ben once in a while." He turns to Mal."Did your plan work with Jane? Are you going over to see the wand?"
Mal was looking through her spell book,"Do you think that I would be going through every single spell in this book. If I hadn't completely struck out?"
Jay:"Oh, someone's in a bad mood."
Mal:"My mom's counting on me! I can't let her down!"
Jay:"We can do this...If we stick together."
We all look at Jay.
Mal:"And we won't go back until we do. Because we're rotten..."
All except me,"To the core."
Evie:"Oh, yeah. I found out that fairy godmother blesses Ben with the wand at the coronation and we all get to go. I have nothing to wear, of course." Mal was looking at her."What?"
Then there was a knock on the door, and I went to go get it,"Hold that thought." I opened the door to see Ben there, and I smiled.
Ben:"Hey Gina. I didn't get see the rest of the guys today. I was just wondering if you had any questions or anything...that you needed..."
Gina:"Not that I know of."
Ben:"Okay. All right. Well, uh, if you need anything, just, uh..."
Mal:"Oh, wait! Um, is it true that we get to go to your coronation?"
Ben:"Yeah, the whole school goes."
Mal:"WOW. That is beyond exciting. Do you think that it's a possibility that the five of us could stand in the front row next to Fairy Godmother, just so we could soak up all that goodness?"
Ben:"I wish you could. But up front, is just me, my twin sister Bailey, my folks, and Gina."
Gina:"Me?"
Ben:"Yeah, I wanted to ask you to stand up front with me and my folks?"
Gina:"Awe, Ben, of course I would love to." I smiled.
Ben:"Yes, then I'll see you later." He walks away and I closed the door and smiles. The gang was looking at me.
Gina:"What?"
Evie:"You love the soon to be king." She smiles.
Gina:"Okay, what if I am." I said.
Mal:"It will ruin our plan to get the wand, we need a spell and I think I know just what spell."
I don't like what she is thinking.
~~~In the kitchen, I was stirring up the cookie dough batter, not wanting to do this.
Mal:"All right. It says that we need one tear, and I never cry."
Carlos:"So, let's just chop up some onions."
Gina:"No. It says here that we need one tear of human sadness."
Mal:"And this love potion gets the best so we have to follow it exactly if our plan wants to work."
Jay:"A tears a tear."
Evie:"That's not true, Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein based hormones than a refueled tear."
I smiled at my best friend,"Look at you getting all smart, girl."
Evie mouths,"Thank you."
Jay:"I knew that."
Carlos:"No you didn't." He said petting Dude.
Jay:"Yeah, I did."
Then Lonnie walks into the kitchen, and Mal covers her spell book with a towel.
Lonnie:"There you are, Mal! I was looking for you. You know, all the girls want you to do their hair." She sees what we are doing."Midnight snack, huh? What are you guys making?"
Gina:"Oh, you know, just cookies."
Lonnie dips her finger in the cookie dough and licked it off her finger.
Mal:"Oh, No, no!"
Carlos:"Wait, wait, wait!"
Lonnie:"What? I'm not going to double dip."
Gina:"Feel anything?"
Mal:"Yeah, like maybe it's missing something?"
Jay walks up to Lonnie, trying to flirt with her,"Hey there."
Lonnie:"It could use some chips."
Jay was confused,"Chips?"
Gina:"And those are?" What the gang didn't know I scooped up a cookie with no tear.
Lonnie:"Chocolate chips. Just the most important food group." She looks at our faces."Wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies? Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big ole glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and..." She sees our faces our sad."Why are you all looking at me like that?"
Mal:"It's just different where were from."
Lonnie starts to tears up,"Yeah, I know. I just, you know, I thought...even villains love their kids. Oh...how awful."
Mal:"Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to put these into the oven, so thank you so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams."
Lonnie:"Good night."
Mal:"See you tomorrow." Lonnie leaves the kitchen.
Gina:"Okay, boys, cookie sheet. Evie, oven."
Evie:"Yes ma'am."
~~~The next day, I was at my locker, I had the non-spelled cookie in a bag. And Bailey saw me,"Hey, Gina, have you read the article about you and Ben, it's so cute." She smiled.
Gina:"No, I didn't see it, let me see."
I see the article about me and Ben:'Prince Benjamin's girl, Gina.'
Gina:"That's a good picture of me."
Bailey:"Yeah, whats Mom and Dad going to say about it?"
Gina:"Oh God, now I'm scared."
Bailey:"Well, good luck, I'll see you in the field."
I turned back to my locker.
Jay came up,"Are you feeling kind of weird about this? I mean, it's not so bad here, you know."
Mal heard,"Are you insane? Long live evil! You're mean! You're awful! You're bad news! Snap out of it!"
Jay:"Thanks Mal. I needed that."
I don't want to be bad anymore, I'm actually starting to fall for Ben. And I like all the attention on me.
Audrey was talking to Ben, she hasn't seen the article about Gina and Ben,"Do you think they actually paid for those?" She asked Ben.
Jay was talking to the girls,"Oh, hello. The names Jay. You all going to the tourney game tonight?"
The girls smiles and nod,"Yeah."
Jay:"Keep a lookout for number eight, all right? Scoring the winning goal."
Girls:"Okay."
Audrey:"She did it to Jane's hair too, and Fairy Godmother isn't happy about it."
Ben:"Whats the harm?"
Audrey:"It's gateway magic! Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know it's the lips and the legs and the clothes and everybody looks good and then...where will I be?"
Ben sighs,"Listen, Audrey..." he was going to tell her about him and Gina, but she cuts him off.
Audrey:"I will see you at the game after my dress fitting for the coronation." She walks away.
Ben thought, she's glad she's gone, he sees Gina, and he walks over to her, smiling.
Gina turns around, and smiles,"Hey Benji."
Ben:"Hey babe."
Gina got her phone out that Ben gave her, and typed in a message,'The gang thinks I'm going to put a love potion on you, but I'm not, I'm really falling for you Ben, please don't be mad at me.' I showed him the text. Ben smiles and texted back,'I'm not mad at you, and I'm falling for you too. I'll just pretend I'm spelled, but really the feelings are real."
Gina:"Okay, I made a batch of cookies. Double chocolate chip, do you want one?" I winked at him.
Ben:"Oh, I, uh, I've got a big game. I don't really eat before a big game. But thank you so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time." He was about to walk away.
Gina:"No, yeah. I completely understand. 'Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains, especially the daughter of Gaston."
Ben:"No, no, no."
Gina:"No, I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that."
Ben:"No, that's not it. No, no, no, I...I really do..."
Gina:"No, I get it you're cautious. That's smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess." I was about to take a bite, but Ben took it from me.
Ben:"No, no. Hey...see? Totally trust you. Totally."
Gina:"So, how are they?"
Ben:"They're good, they're great! They're amazing! They're, uh...I mean, they're chewy and, and you know, they...is that walnuts."I nodded."I love walnuts. I mean, uh, you know, the...the chocolate...the...the...chocolate chips are...I'm sorry. Um...uh....they're...they're soft and warm. And they're sweet...Gina, have you always had those little golden specks in your eyes?" He stares at me, and was about to take another bite, but I put the cookie in the bag and gave it to Jay.
The gang came up, and Jay put his hand on Ben's shoulder,"How you feeling bro?"
Ben:"I feel...I feel...I feel like...like singing your name. Gina, Gina, Gina!"
I covered his mouth with my hand.
Jay looks at the cookie in the bag.
Gina:"Okay, me and Ben are going to the field now."
Ben and I walked away, far from them,"So how did I do?"
Gina:"A little bit over the top, sweetie."
Ben:"I'll do better next time."
Gina:"I know you will." I kissed him.
