Dr. Steele's Origins

Ch. 1) The Theatre

The year was 1937 and Robert Steele was a Junior in college and was majoring in Theatre. The college was holding auditions for their next musical. Steele was an excellent singer. Ever since Highschool he dreamed of becoming an actor on broadway. His parents weren't thrilled with that idea at first then they came around his senior year. He applied to college and got accepted to California University of Pennsylvania and other colleges but CalU was closest to home. He studied every semester and made deans list every semester up til now. So when t
auditions came around he was ready to perform. He sang his heart out. They thanked him and he left so the next person could go.

Steele was confident that he would get the lead role. He always had. Except freshman year of high school and college (first semester only). Ge understood that he was new and he wouldn't get it. He totally understood.

A few days later.

"Hey Steele you ready for the cast list to come out later today" asked Lisa

Lisa was a friend of Steele's since freshman year. They have been in every single theatre class together. They have gotten close and Steele thought of dating her but never asked.

"Um yeah I'm ready. I think I was the best for the part I was trying to get" said Steele

"Yeah you always get the male leads and I get the female leads" said Lisa

"That's odd I feel like the professors want to do something but maybe it's just luck" said Steele

"What do you mean by that" asked Lisa

"Well I feel like they want us together" said Steele

"That's crazy but I'm down for that" said Lisa

"Wait I'm not..." said Steele

"To late it's a date" said Lisa.

Steele didn't know what to do. He wanted to ask but this statement made it so. He wasn't ready but he's give it a shot.

Later that day the cast list was posted inside the theatre. Everyone who auditioned went to see if they made it in the musical. Steele arrived once the crowd died down a bit.

"Hey Lisa everything alright" asked Steele

"Yeah everything's perfect. Check the list" said Lisa

Steele went to check the list. He saw Lisa's name he was looking hard to find his name and a few scans later he found it.

"WHAT" said Steele

"Steele it's ok hey if I went down as well we will still be together" said Lisa

"But we we always the lead roles." said Steel

"Yeah but..." Lisa started

"Sorry there's another cast list I'm putting up now" said the professor

The other cast list went up and Steele and Lisa were first up to see the list

"See were the leads. We forgot there were 2 shows being put up this year" said Lisa

"Yeah sorry about that freak out. I'm not like if I don't have the lead I quit. It was odd is all" said Steele

"Yeah understandable. Anyway let's go on that date. I know the perfect place" said Lisa.

They walked out of the theatre past the stones in front of the building (where the future statue will be) and headed into town.
