Chapter 40

Princesses and Formalities

That voice was one of Frank Paulson; the wolf elder I had confided in when finding out about having two mates.

"Mr Paulson." My mother bows to him in respect.

I just stand there; why is he here and why did he speak up?

I'm a little confused.

Instead of me bowing to Elder Paulson, he smiles and bows to me,"Alpha Lizzie." He announces.

"Mr Paulson, it's so lovely to see you again." I smile politely.

He turns and speaks to both packs that are gathered around us, "Lizzie Knight is your new Alpha.

Alpha Jack has been defeated, and will no longer hold you captive.

You will listen to your new Alpha and respect her as you for her father."

They respected my father?

I thought he was thrown out of the pack?!

A little confused?!

I have to voice my questions, "my father was respected? I thought he was thrown out? I don't understand."

An elderly wolf smiles and steps forward, "apologies Alpha.. Your father was respected.. But Alpha Jack threw him out without us knowing.. And took over.

Since that day, he has caused mayhem and destruction among our pack.

Your father was a great man, and a great Alpha. We know you will be just as strong as he was."

Alpha Jack caused all of this!

The Starshine pack has been set straight, and with Holden's help, we have appointed a new Beta to help lead the pack while I am away.

Everybody has a job to follow; and steps to take to bring the pack up to scratch.

The area will be cleaned and all rubbish will be discarded appropriately.

Everyone will be given appropriate jobs, and the men will be trained to fight and protect the pack.

I will get my fathers pack back to how it should be.

How it was all those years ago.

And one other thing will be done. It's time. I want it to happen now.

All the real threat is gone, and I am happy in the dysfunctional relationship I have with my mates; I want to get married.

We have just arrived home, so I grab them both and pull them into the office.

"I want to get married. Within the week." I state.

I am greeted by faces of shock mixed with glee.

"Are you sure?" Holden asks.

"Don't you want a big wedding?" Dean joins in.

I shake my head with a smile, "I just want you two."
