APPRENTICESHIP GONE WRONG [CH. 2]

LATER

Suddenly a loud voice boomed out over the camp.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

"Who's that?" Amberkit asked.

"That's our leader Shadestar." Fernpelt replied.

Amberkit jumped in excitement and realisation. This was the moment she would finally become an apprentice! She was so excited!

Once everyone gathered beneath the Highrock Shadestar continued.

"Amberkit please step forward."

Amberkit purred and nuzzled both Fernpelt and Falconwing who were also purring non stop, before proceeding to step forward into the center of the clearing in front of the Highrock.

"Amberkit you are now six moons old and are ready to become an apprentice."

Amberkit felt like she was going to burst with happiness and pride at the same time.

Shadestar continued. "Amberkit. From now on until you have earned your warrior name, you shall be know as Amberpaw. And your mentor shall be.." "Eagleflight."

Eagleflight, who was sitting in the crowd, looked up with surprise and pride and then walked forward to touch noses with Amberpaw.

"Eagleflight you are more than ready to take on an apprentice. So please pass down your skills of being a good hunter, a good fighter, and many other things to Amberpaw. I know that you will be a great mentor to Amberpaw."

"Don't worry Shadestar i'll do more than my best to train Amberpaw to be a great warrior!"
Eagleflight said proudly.

"I know that you'll do a great job Eagleflight." Shadestar replied.

"Amber-paw! Amber-paw! Amber-paw!" The clan cheered. Amberpaw couldn't be more proud to be apart of Shadeclan.

LATER

The clearing emptied out after a while and the only cats left were Amberpaw and Eagleflight.

"So what are we doing first?" Amberpaw asked Eagleflight while jumping around.

"Well first i'm going to show you the borders." Eagleflight replied. Amberpaw stopped jumping around Eagleflight.

"Really?!" Amberpaw breathed.

"Really." He replied.

"Well then what are we waiting for? Lets go!" Amberpaw said before running off towards the fern tunnel at the front of the camp.

"Amberpaw! Wait for me!" Eagleflight yelled running after Amberpaw.

Amberpaw skidded to a alt once she was out of the fern tunnel.

"Wow!" She breathed out.

Eagleflight crashed into Amberpaw's back.

"Ah!" She exclaimed in surprise.

"Hey!" She said annoyed.

"Sorry. But you ran ahead of me so not sorry." He said back.

"Aren't I supposed to lead you?" Eagleflight laughed.

"Sorry i was just excited." Amberpaw replied guilty.

"It's alright. Frankly, I did the same thing when i became an apprentice." He said. Now walking by her side.

"Really?" Amberpaw asked surprised. She thought he would have been mature as an apprentice.
