The Dargon Power (Chapter 17)

Thomas POV

It's been a week since I found out about Alexander's past. I am supposed to be able to use my powers now. I've been reading up on it. Jessica suggests to me that we should start to learn how to use my powers since The Battle is in a month and a half.

Jessica also Suggestion that I invited my parents to The Battle since it's one of the few days of the school year that parents can come. I found out this past week at practice with the group. I told my mom that they could come and watch. I found out she was planning on coming either way. The Battle is also happening the weekend before Thanksgiving. So after The Battle is going to head home with them. Since we get the week off. We can choose to stay at school or go home.

Its Saturday morning now and this is not what I thought I would be doing for the weekend. It's 10:30 Am, good thing I don't mind waking up early.

We are over at the training field that the Dragons practice at. We walk over to the field where no one is at. Jaz is letting us use the training dummies and some old equipment to practice my powers.

"Okay, first off do you know how to use your powers?" Jessica asks me as she puts mannequin in front of me. I have been studying how to use my powers for my Dargon side, but it's much more difficult than witchcraft is.

" Know the principals of it, but I have never tried to use it," I tell her as I watch her stand next to the dummy. " Okay, so for just right we will be forced on Poison and Dark powers right now and not Lighting since you are not allowed to use it during The Battle." She tells me as she smiles with her biggest smile.

" You know that you don't have to help me," I tell her as she starts to walk towards me. She had been studying up on The Battle with me. She was the one who insisted that we try to use my powers this weekend. I was just hoping that it would coom naturally as magic did. I am just glad to have Jessica as my friend.

" Well, the best type of powers to use is defense and attacked powers." She tells me as I start to think of different ways I can use my powers. Defense side I can use night vision, shadow camouflage, umbra-telekinesis, and Wave Emissions. Then on the other side, I have can try different attacks like blast or slash. There's so much to learn about this.

" Thomas, let's try something easy first. Okay?" Jessica tells me in a lovely way. She knows that I am a little overwhelmed a bit. Cause I have a whole team counting on the whole team to do well. I just don't want to mess up this. " um, we can try something on the defense side" I tell her with a half-smile.

"Um, I can try a shield of darkness," I tell her. " Okay, I am going to toss this form ball at you and you have created a shield," she tells me as she grabs a blue form ball out of a box. " Okay," I tell her. I try to remember what it said in the book. It said that I have to let my Dargon side out enough to help me control my powers. I don't really know what that means.

Before I can think of anything feel something hit me. I look down to see the ball next to my feet. Now I know what hit me. " Why did you toss it. I wasn't ready yet" I tell her as I sound a little upset. Everything going on has me a little stressed out. I think that's why I am upset. " Do you think the other team is going to care if you are ready. They will just pull off your patches." She tells me as she tosses another ball at me.

"Jessica!" I yell at her. As she looks surprised by me yelling. " What?" she tells me as she tosses another ball at me. "This is not helping. You, not even a Dargon. How can you help me." I yell at her after the ball hits me? It seems that she not listening to me cause she keeps tossing form balls at. She picks up another ball and tosses at me.
