Chapter 12

Yura quietly creeped into Minji's high school auditorium. Unfortunately, her plan of sneaking into Minji's graduation ceremony late unnoticed had failed and everyone was staring at her. Yura quickly bowed at the rest of the parents who were glaring at her as she went to her seat. The principal was reading the names of the graduates in alphabetical order so Yura guessed she haven't missed out Minji's part yet since he was only on letter 'c'.

D.E.F.G.H.I.J.K.L.M.N.O. Finally.

"Class 12B. Park Min Ji."

Minji stumbled up the steps, due to the high heels Yura had forced her to wear. When she finally reached the stage, Minji adjusted her hat as she stand next to the principal to receive her certificate and photo. Yura wanted to jump up on stage and start dancing but if she did that she would be on the glaring list of the crowd again.

As Minji finished saying goodbye to her friends, Yura approached her with a gigantic bouquet of flowers.

"Thanks unnie. These look amazing! Where did you get them?" Minji asked, embracing the sweet smell of the flowers in her hand.

"Actually, they're not from me." Yura laughed.

"Then who is it from?"

"I don't know. It was delivered to me this morning when I was in the company. The delivery guy told me that it was for you."

"What if it's from the kidnappers that killed Chanyeol. Or what if it's from Chanyeol and he sent it to warn us about the kidnappers?" Minji whispered to Yura worriedly.

"Minnie. No. Stop it. You're driving me crazy. No one kidnapped Chanyeol. And this is probably just from mom." Yura rolled her eyes at how paranoid her sister is. Although she's worried about Chanyeol going MIA too, she's not as crazy about it as her little sister.

Minji shushed her and examined the bouquet silently as if if she opened her mouth the bouquet would burst into flames and explode into a million pieces. At that moment, she saw a small white piece of paper sticking out from underneath. She carefully took the paper out. Minji sighed in relief before grinning from ear to ear at the paper. Seeing her sister smiling creepily like the cat from Alice in Wonderland, Yura took the paper from her.

Congrats on graduating high school. You should be glad to have a fan like me who knows your graduation date. Hope to see you soon.

-Your fan, KS

"Who the hell is KS and how does he know about your graduation date? I’ve watch too many Pretty Little Liars episodes to know that this might not end well."

"Oh don't worry he's a friend." Minji continued to smile, knowing who the flowers was from.

Fan like me? That copycat.

2 weeks later

Yura rushed to her normal working station, heavy breathing from all the running she did, since the elevator had been broken.

“Are you okay?” Ms. Phuong, one of Yura’s colleagues, asked.

Before she could answer, Ms. Lee, the secretary called Yura over to the Director’s room. Yura had been invited to that room so many time the past month, she was starting to think it was like the counseling room like in high school.

“Yura-ssi, Please take a seat.”

“What is it Director?” Yura sat down reluctantly. The atmosphere wasn’t like her other visits, it was much more gloomy than usual.

“I’m afraid I have some bad news for you.” the Director paused, as if waiting for Yura to burst into tears and beg on her knees,“You had been late to work too many times lately, and your paperwork had been incomplete.”

Oh crap. I knew this was going to happen.Yura thought, looking down at the floor.

“The company had decided that it is best if you go back to our branch in Korea.” Yura stayed quiet for a moment to process what the Director had just said before replying,“When will I be going back?”

“We will give you one week to prepare for your departure, A plane ticket will be booked for you by the end of next week. Please be ready by then. It had been a pleasure working with you these years.” The Director stood up and held out her hand for Yura to shake. She took her hand and bowed to her before exiting the room to start clearing her desk away.

Yura spent the rest of the day walking on the street, not wanting to face how Minji was going to react about moving back to Korea. Before she even realized, it was already 1AM, when she reached her apartment.

Please let Minji be asleep.

As she unlock the door, the darkness surrounded her.

At least she won't be shocked tonight.
