Chapter 16

 

3:00 AM

 

In the quiet hospital room, the only sound was coming from the beeping machines next to Minji’s bed and it had caused her to stir.  It had been 3 hours since her surgery and the anesthetic had worn off and the pain was kicking in once again. Minji opened her eyes, the bright lights blinded her. It took a while to adjust but when it did, Minji could finally see her surrounding. The windows, the tv, the sofa, the mini fridge, the machines, and Sehun. He look so tired. His hands were still covered with dried blood and there were dark circles under his eyes.

 

Poor guy.

“Sehun.” Minji brushed his messy hair, making him jumped, shocked at her touch.

“Minji, you shouldn’t sit up like that, the doctor said you have to lay down.”

“And you should go home and  sleep. The manager might be looking for you and the guys might be worry.”

“You’re not really in a position to be worrying about other people.” He smiled at her.

“I mean it, Sehun. You can go, I can call the doctor or the nurse if anything happen.”

“Alright. But I promise I’ll come and visit you again tomorrow. And I still have no idea how  you got back to Korea.”

“That’s easy, I got here by an airplane of course.” Minji smiled at him cheekily.

Sehun laughed as he patted her head before walking towards the door.

“Sehun?”

“Yea?”

“Can you keep this a secret with Chanyeol or any of the guys? I don’t want them to be worried about me, they’ve already got all their schedules to worry about.”

“Of course.”

“Thank you. For keeping this a secret and for saving me. I could’ve died if it wasn’t for you.”

“Your welcome. By the way,  I see you still wear the bracelet I gave you.” He chuckled.  Minji stared down at the dangling silver charm bracelet and smiled. Before she could reply back, Sehun cut her off,

“I’ll see you tomorrow.” He waved at her.

“Bye, Sehun.” And with that, he walked out the door

 

After Sehun left,  Minji couldn’t fall back to sleep, she had a feeling like she had forgotten to do something. She tossed and turned for an hour or two until it finally hit her.

 

Mom.

 

Minji grabbed her phone from the bedside table.

34 Missed Calls from Mom.

22 Missed Calls from Yura.

14 Text Messages.

Crap.

She quickly dialed her mom’s number.

One ring.

Two ring.

“Park Minji! It’s 5 in the morning! Where have you been?” Her mother yelled.

“I’m sorry I forgot to call you. I met an old friend on the way home, she wanted me to sleepover at her house for a few days..” Minji lied.

“God. Next time,  remember to call me. I almost had a heart attack waiting for you to come home.”

“Okay mom, I promise.”

For four days, Sehun had kept his promise and visited her every night. Everytime, he would bring in food for her at 10 and he wouldn’t leave until he had made sure she went to sleep. Unfortunately, his visits didn’t go unnoticed by the guys as he had planned.

 

“Where is Sehun going this time?” Chen whispered to Kai.

“He’s going to meet his ‘friends’ again.” Kai raised his eyebrows at Sehun who was combing his hair in the bathroom.

“He had been acting really weird lately, always coming home late.” Baekhyun butted in.

“Do you think he have a girlfriend of something?” Chanyeol asked.

 

The four of them looked back and forth at each other before racing to their room to change their clothes. When they got down, they were lucky enough to see Sehun just walking out the door. They waited for him to got on his taxi before they got on theirs.

“Sir, can you follow that taxi?”

“Of course.”

 

For fifteen minutes they had no idea where he was going until he finally stopped at a rice soup shop and went inside while the taxi was still outside waiting for him.

“Chen, go and see if he’s going stay there long.” Baekhyun said impatiently after a few minutes of waiting.

“What? Why me?”

“Because you’re the closest to the door.” As soon as Chanyeol pushed him out, Sehun suddenly came back and Chen had to quickly climbed back into car before Sehun could catch a glimpse of him.

“That was close.” Kai sighed in relieved.

“Where is he going now?” Chanyeol asked.

 

After 5 minutes the taxi stopped again, this time at a hospital. The guys waited for Sehun to got to the entrance before following him inside.

Sehun, who was only thinking about Minji, didn’t even sense them following him at all. They kept their distance and once Sehun stopped at a room.

“Who do you think he’s visiting?”

“Shh! Be quiet Baekhyun. Let’s take a look.”

 

They kneeled down before the small window on the door, but they couldn’t see who Sehun was with since his back was covering the person’s face.

“Damn him and his big back.”

“Move! Your head is too big, I can’t see anything!!” Chanyeol pushed Chen out of the way.

This time he got saw who it was.

His face flushed with anger as he burst into the room.

“PARK MIN JI!”

Sorry to disappoint lots of the readers for not letting Chanyeol beat the crap out of Kris :)) It'll be in the next chapter :)) I promise~

Anyway, Happy Lunar New Year guys! :)

I hope this year will be better than the last for everyone.
