I decided not to tell anyone about the note. I didn't want to worry David because he wouldn't let me leave his side. Christian would probably take it as an excuse to kiss me again. Reese would be like David and make sure I never left her side. Plus, I never told her about my past because I wasn't ready yet.
I crumbled the note and hid it in the back of my dresser drawer, under some cloths. The rest of the day I was always on the look out to see if someone was following me. I didn't know who I was looking out for because God knows what my dad looks like now. When Reese and I went to lunch she questioned me about it.
"Brooke, I know you said the note was just a prank but you've been so paranoid since we left, which leads me to believe your lying to me about it.""I'm not lying Reese," I said trying to cover it all up, "It was just prank, like I said before."
"Then why do you keep looking around to see if someone is following us?"
I couldn't take it anymore and I knew she wasn't going to drop the issue. I had no other choice than to come clean, "Okay fine I did lie to you. The note wasn't written by some kids, it was written by my dad."
"I don't get it," she hesitated.
"I'm not ready to talk about what happened because it still hurts to retell it. What you need to know is that my dad is not a good person. He did some really bad things to my family and went to jail for them. This isn't the first note I got from him. The other was when I was coming home from dance. I told Christian about it because I knew I could trust him. He said if it ever happened again to tell him and we could go the cops, but I don't want to go see him right now. David doesn't know."
"Brooke, you need to tell Davey. I'm sure he knows what happened and he could help you. Plus, he's your boyfriend now," Reese suggested.
"How do I tell him though? Do I be upfront about it or lead into it?" I questioned.
"Tell him in a way you think is right. If you want to get right to the point, you do that. If you want to sit down alone with him and tell him, you can also do that. I suggest getting him alone to do it so you don't freak anyone else out."
"Okay, so do I just say, 'my evil ass father is back and we both know how terrible he is?'"
"No, just be like he's back and he'll understand what your talking about. If he wants to act like your personal body guard, explain to him that you can handle yourself. Show him the note you got today and if you have the first note also."
I took a deep breath. Telling Davey was not going to be easy. Reese made it sound like it was going to be, but I know it's not. Why does it always have to be me?time skip to when the girls get back to their apartments.
When we got back home, some of the boys were hanging out at my place. Reese stopped in to say hello to everyone before going to her place.
"Heya Reese," Marty cheered."Oh finally I can have my girlfriend back," David sighed.
"Reese you should stay, Micheal should be here soon," Mark smirked.
"If he wants to see me, tell him to come to my place. Make sure to include that my parents aren't home at the moment," she cooed.
"Just keep the noise down," Aaron remarked.
"And use protection," Trey added.
"Why does everything have to be sexual with you fellas?" I asked sitting next to Davey.
"She made the comment first," Gabe laughed.
"Whatever," I sighed rolling my eyes. I smiled back to Reese and she headed home.
"So how did you day with Reese go?" Marty asked.
"It was good, we had a lot of fun together," I explained.
"Did you see any cute guys?" Trey remarked.
"Yes I did actually. I'm sitting right next to him," I giggled as I jabbed Dave with my elbow.
"I want a relationship," Aaron sighed.
"I'm sure the right girl will came along for you eventually Aaron," I said.
"Besides relationships aren't all there cracked up to be," Gabe added.
"And how would you know?" Mark question.
"Someone would really date someone your size?" Trey remarked.
"Size doesn't matter," Gabe bellowed, "I got personality."
"Keep telling yourself that dimples," Mark muttered.
The rest of the night was a blast. We joked around and just had a good time. The boys left late so by the time Mrs. Moscow was home, they all had left."So how is my favorite child?" she questioned sitting down.
"I'm great Mrs. Moscow," I explained.
"Do you like it here in Cali?"
"Yeah I do. I didn't think I would but it's basically just the west coast version of New York."
"That's great to hear honey," she smiled.
Not once did I mention the note. I was going too when everyone left, but I couldn't work myself up to do so. When I was going to bed, I took out the note. If my dad knew about David and I's relationship, what else did he know? More importantly, was he going to hurt him for it?
