When my eyes opened, the movie was over.
I must've fallen asleep in Cole's comforting arms, and I forgot about the movie.
"That was a good movie, wasn't it, Em?" Cole asked.
"Yeah, sure was. I mean, the first hour was amazing, I kinda slept through the rest. Sorry..." I answered.
"Awww, it's alright. Did I tell you that you look beautiful while sleeping? Your little eyes are closed and your hair is all rousled..."
"Thanks, you are so kind Cole!"
With that, we ended up kissing-- and this time, it wasn't a peck. We kissed for a while, and then Cole invited me up to his room.
We went upstairs, into Cole's room, and I decided to check the time.
11:00.
It was really late! I thought that I would've just been home in a while, but I guess after the movie ended, Cole had slept with me for a while. Since I had just woken up from a nap, I didn't want to go back to sleep. If I went home, I would have no choice.
"Em, do you wanna sleep over tonight? Don't worry, we'll be on different beds and everything, just in the same room." Cole questioned.
"Ummm, well, why don't you ask your mom? I'll ask mine in the meantime."
"Sure, I'll be back. Gotta go downstairs..."
I decided to quickly text my mom.Emma: Hey, mom, can I sleepover at Cole's tonight?
Mom: Well, maybe...
Emma: Ugh mom there will be nothing like that going on!!!
Mom: Em, I will let you on one condition.Emma: WHAT MOM???
Mom: Just no funny business! :) ;)Emma: MOOOOOM!!!
Mom: Bye hon!
Emma: Bye mom
Right as I put my phone down, Cole came into the room. He sat down beside me and started to look into my eyes weirdly.
"Emma, here's the thing. My mom said no." he stated with little hint of sorrow in his voice.
"You've got to be kidding. My mom said yes!" I exclaimed.
"Emma, let me finish."
Cole was really getting me annoyed with his act that he was putting up. I was already upset with the fact that I couldn't spend the night with him, and he was just getting me annoyed by putting on a show.
"What is there to say? We can't have a sleepover, so I'm just going to get my stuff
and leave. Can you help me out?"
"Emma! Let me finish! My mom said no to you going home!" Cole exclaimed.
"Cole that is not funny! Stop messing around with me!" I said as I ran my hand
through his hair.
He gave me that beautiful smile of his, and he gave me a peck on my lips.
After about fifteen minutes, we had set up everything, and we decided that one person would sleep on the floor, and the other would sleep on the bed.
"Em, you sleep on my bed, and I will hit the hay on the floor." Cole suggested.
"Cole, are you sure about that? I mean it does get pretty cold on the floor. And anyways, it is your bed, so I mean I should be the one taking the floor..."
"Listen, Em, you are my guest, and my wonderful girlfriend, so I should take the floor. Anyways, I will be fine!" Cole replied.
I just agreed to that because, honestly, I was really not in the mood to argue and sleeping on the bed would be better than sleeping on the floor. Also, I just didn't want to argue with Cole's chivalry.
We got comfortable, and we both kissed on Cole's bed for a while. I still wasn't sleepy, so Cole decided that we could go downstairs and eat some ice cream.
We got all the materials that we needed to make an ice cream sundae, and started.
"Cole, can you pass me the chocolate ice cream, chocolate chips, the chocolate bar, and the chocolate syrup?" I asked.
"Wow, someone is obsessed with CHOCOLATE!"
"I am not! Gosh..." I replied.
We continued creating our yummy creations, and in the end, we were too full to eat-- so we went straight to bed.
"You're sure you want to sleep on the floor, right?" I questioned.
"Yes, yes! I'll be fine over here! Unless you wanna join me--" Cole started.
"No! Ew, Cole, my mom said no funny business!"
"Someone is a little cranky!"
With that, we both finally decided to go to bed, but we both knew that we wanted to sleep together. I lay down, but I couldn't fall asleep at all. I missed my home, my bed, and everything in my room. There was something about Cole's bed that was just so uncomfortable. I felt a little blocky spot under the bed, and I wondered what it was.
"Hey! Cole, what's under your bed? It's so hard!" I whispered as I reached underneath the mattress and tried to find out what was there.
"Oh, uh, nothing, just uh, don't touch it!" Cole commanded, a little unsurely.
I decided to look at whatever the hard object was anyways, since I was very uncomfortable with it underneath me. I reached down, squeezed my hand through, and I felt... paper. I felt a bunch of paper, so I thought it was just a book. Although, why would somebody keep a book under a bed? I waited until Cole fell asleep completely, since I didn't want him to notice that I was looking at his "book".
When he fell asleep, I leaned and stuck my hand in between the matresses, trying to take the book out. I grasped the spine, and slowly pulled.
Eventually, the book was in my hands.
I slowly lifted the cover of the burgundy leathly notebook, and I was surprised to see a picture of a girl my age. I felt like I had seen her somewhere in our school before, but I wasn't really sure. I flipped through a few pages, and they were filled with pictures of this girl. I was so confused, because Cole was in every single picture with that girl. They were posing in all types of ways... and there were captions like "with my gf" and "love her" underneath the pictures. This can't be Cole! He, he, he was with me the whole time! He never...
Just then, I saw something. I felt my heart beating harder and faster. I was sweating-- and my hands were shaking. Tears were forming in my eyes, and everything was getting more and more blurry. The world seemed to fade away-- piece by piece.
